Author's Response: Yes, I know - I use it deliberately. But thank you for your concern. :-) Harry and Severus thought once Voldemort died, they'd finally have the opportunity to live normal lives, preferably far away from each other. However, thanks to a Minister out for revenge, a Death Eater who needs a reality check, and a meddling Headmaster, normal and separate are the last words either could use to describe their next year at Hogwarts as they start their newest adventure as master and apprentice.

Author's Response: Thanks, I will jump on that'
"Tthough" => Tsk. Should be "Though." “Severus escapes possibly the most unprecedented and invasive stampede through our privacy as a reward for being, on the whole, an arrogant bastard?” => Music to my ears. If not for that meddling old fool...
"what you planned on doing" => what you planned TO DO I do approve of your choice of transfiguration. Munitions to minnow. "Yes, more than less,” => Perhaps you meant "more OR less"? "A total are study can be longer" => Your intended meaning is indecipherable.
"there was no reason to facilitate the grand room" => Facilitate? I think not. Open; utilize; employ; not facilitate. "patience stretched like rice paper" => Rice paper is actually quite inelastic. "patience stretched AS THIN AS rice paper" would be more appropriate . Just before Christmas, Harry hears the basilisk again and believes he's going mad. Why else would he hear a voice that no one else can, talking about blood and death? Unable to take the stress, he flees the castle in the middle of a blizzard. Severus Snape follows him and they end up trapped in a cave, along with a very rare creature. Will they survive to see Christmas morning? Will they finally learn to set aside old grudges and impressions and learn the truth about each other? Christmas 2010 fic! Sick!Harry and sick!Severus, AU, mentor/apprentice, COS.

Author's Response: Nope I don't have a beta, will go back and check my tenses, though, this was kind of done in a rush, thank a lot for pointing it out. Thanks for the review, don't worry, I'm a twi-hater. Just thought it fun to add this bit in. It's refreshing to hear some criticism apart from the praises I've been getting, so thanks for being so forthcoming with the responses. A package is sent to Severus 16 years after Lily's death. Its contents reveal he and Harry have been living a lie. Will they both come to accept the truth and one another or will they continue to live the lie?

Taking it term by term: Victus: living / way of life / diet, food, provision Per: 1.per (+ acc.) (of space) 2.per (+ acc.) (means/instrument) 3.per (+ acc.) (cause) 4.per (+ acc.) (of time) Reproba: second-person singular present active imperative of reprobo => reprobo: disapprove/reject/condemn Monumentum: memorial or token of remembrance, remembrance My way of life is caused by your condemnation of my rembembrance? My way of life will cause your rejection of a memorial? Please add an author's note with your intended translation of this phrase. Author's Response: Wow...a review on just my title alone. I never thought I'd ever see that. Glad I ditched having Latin chapter titles. I can only imagine what my reviews would be. LOL The site I used to translate Latin to English gave me the words to my title. Victus - living Reproba - false Monumentum - rememberance I'm not good at coming up with titles so I really wanted to translate it to Latin so it would sound better. It was something like Living with False Memories. A fast little read about what happens when Harry isn't aware that someone is listening to him rant.

Harry understands the meaning of loss. What he doesn't know, is that he also deserves to find.

"Harry waved at them und thought"... should be "AND thought". Is German your usual written language, or is this just a typo? Author's Response: German is my first language. I'm afraid that 'ist' and 'und' instead of 'is' and 'und' happen every once in a while. But it doesn't happen as often anymore. Thanks for reviewing. |
