About me:

I love to read, and I love to write. I try to write a review for every story that I read. I usually leave reviews at the end of the story if there are multiple chapters, but if a chapter is particularily good I will sometimes feel compelled to leave a review at that chapter.

I am a big fan of a family made up of Severus Snape, Harry Potter, and Draco Malfoy. I know that in the books that would never happen in a million years, but that is what fanfiction is for right? I like to see all the different ways that the three come together as a family that people have come up with.

I particularily identify with Luna as a character. She is rather special in my mind because she is not afraid to be who she is and you just have to respect that even if that means in the books all her belongings disappear for a while. I especially like fics where Luna ends up with either Draco or Harry.

This is short, to the point, yet very lovely. So much is said in such sweet and simple words. you've told an entire story without the details, from the viewpoint of an inanimate object. I cannot put into words how much I like this.

I totally want to see more writing from you if you ever get inspired to write. :)

Harry just wants to be a normal teenager, but it seems he can't even die normally. So what's a 15 year old wizard to do when he suddenly finds himself as an incorporeal spirit no one else can see or hear except his least favorite Potions Master?

It was fantastic! I think you kept them all pretty much in character, I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I see that you've already started a sequel and it is my plan to go read it now. :)

It's a One Shot that takes Harry and Snape's first Occlumency lesson in another direction.

I really like this. I think this is how Snape would have reacted in canon had he found those memories. He wasn't always the kindest man, but I think he did keep an eye out for all his students. Especially Harry, though Harry always saw him as an enemy.

A duel with Draco leads to drastic and permanent consequences for both Harry and Severus.

Over the past few days I've been reading this. It's pretty good overall. Severus, Harry, and Draco all change rather drastically over the course of the story. I liked how you made them change, though Severus Snape loving Harry happened a little too fast for me even though it took a while for it to happen. I'm not exactly sure why though.

I do find Remus being so distant with Harry odd. I hope that's explained soon. Does he know something about Harry that Harry doesn't? Or is it that Remus blames Harry for his friends dying around him? Or is Remus feeling guilty himself?

I also thought that Voldemort's defeat was rather abrupt. The chapter where it happened was great, but I just can't imagine Voldemort being defeated by a simple "expelliarmus."

I really like the way Draco is portrayed in your story. He's a teenager just like Harry who is trying to deal with everything in his life. With Snape and HArry's help I have the feeling that he'll turn out ok. Also...Do I sense a bit of a Draco/Luna connection in the Yule Ball chapter?

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the long and thoughtful review!  I'm so sorry that it's taken me a while to respond.  All I can do is plead a very busy holiday season.

As for Remus being distant with Harry, I have to say that I always thought canon Remus had difficulties letting himself grow close to others.  In the end, I believe he worked it out with Tonks and baby Teddy, but before that he did seem to have issues.  He was fine being supportive and friendly in a more casual way, but whenever it seemed that a true closeness could develop he would pull back and distance himself.  He pretty much disappeared from Harry's life after POA, not even sending him a letter offering encouragement or advice during the Triwizard Tournament.  He never played a very big role in Harry's life after that either, certainly not as much as one might expect considering that James was one of his closest friends and had offered Remus so much support during his life.  I think Remus has his reasons and I do hope to explore that later in the story.

It also wasn't technically the expelliarmus that defeated Voldemort.  It was his own curse that rebounded.  He cast an AK spell at Harry, and Lily's magical protection flared up and caused that curse to reflect back on Voldemort.  But yes, I have always felt that that part of the story was not as dramatic as it could have been.  Action scenes are just not my forte.

I'm so glad you like Draco.  As for Draco/Luna, possibly, but romance is very much on the backseat in my stories.  I prefer to write gen fic.

    Thanks again!

Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

NOTE: This story has a prologue. It is not necessary to the plot of the story, but if you wish to read it, it is called(predictably enough) 'Prologue to Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat'

Psycho kitty is absolutely adorable! I usually wait until the end of the fic to leave a review, but I just had to comment about Psycho kitty! I also want to say that I'm enjoying this fic and the random bits of humor that you've been putting in what could have been a really long and depressing story. I like how the relationship between Snape and Harry is progressing, and I think that this could have happened this way in the books if Rowling had wanted Snape to be a more sympathetic character. Harry's reactions to the things going on around him are very realistic for the situation that he grew up in. I can't wait to finish it!

After a series of tests to discover why Harry's magic has become erratic, a secret is revealed, one hidden for over fifteen years. But not all secrets disappear without consequence, leaving Severus to learn that potions cannot heal everything.

I really like this story. Even though I have finals in two weeks and a ton of work to do to prepare for them I procrastinated all of that after I started this story. I think I finished this entire thing within ten hours, including breaks for homework and social time. I'm sad that there's not more.

I think you've accurately portrayed how Harry was feeling about his Godfather's death. I like the way you've kind of kept things the same as the books, but changed them just enough. I can totally see Snape having another secret life that not many people know of. I mean he WAS a spy for Dumbledore.

Which brings me to Dumbledore. He seems rather annoying to me in this story. I understand that he doesn't get what cancer is exactly, but he has several people telling him that it's bad, but he just doesn't seem to get it. I like that Mrs. Weasley and Snape are protecting Harry from Dumbledore.

-- Sequel to Shadowland -- When the world of light has come to pass, and darkness comes to reign, bonds of blood can surpass, and a world of hate be tamed. When times are dark and enemies find they have common ground to stand on, unbreakable bonds can sometimes be forged. Can these bonds hold strong long enough to defeat darkness and once again bring the world into light? Betrayal can be a tricky thing...

I've just finished this story, and I read 'Shadowlands' before this one. I like both stories, and I really look forward to reading the sequel to this one.

The Death Eaters have Dumbledore cornered, and Snape is about to kill him. Harry won't let that slide.

I like it. It's a good story, even if the chapters are a little short. :)

[COMPLETE] After Harry blows up Aunt Marge and catches the Knight Bus to Diagonalley, he decides to take charge of his life when he learns he’s being sent back to Four Privet Drive. Harry spends the summer turning life in Diagonalley on its head, trying not to worry about the murderer Sirius Black, and attempting to avoid Severus Snape. In the midst of this he finds himself embroiled in an intense legal battle against Albus Dumbledore to decide his future. For the first time his fate rests solely in his own hands, and depend on the decisions he finds himself being forced to make. Harry wishes he could just be a thirteen year old boy, and begins to wonder if he’ll ever have the childhood he desires the most. Some of the warnings listed just as a precaution for things mentioned or alluded to.
