Yes, I think that little bit of connection means so much. It is something psychological and technically not more legally binding than what they have, but it is the expression of commitment.
Best wishes for your health.

Great description of Snape going into the book store. Talk about a young man caught between a rock and a hard place. A stranger in a strange land and no one he is comfortable tiwth to talk to.

This is such an amazing story. I am having a hard time stopping reading. You are doing a great job with the characters, just that little twist for a change. So glad you are using Dobby and giving him more of a presence. I always felt he was ignored a lot in canon.

It is always amazing how it is the little things that make the big chhanges. You really caught that well.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Harry's been sorted into Slytherin, and Snape is forced to see things he would rather not. And what does an old box from a long time friend have to do with anything? Entrant in the 2011 Fic Exchange. Written for autumnamberleaves.

Lovely. Great job with Severus dealing with his old memories and two boys just starting out.
Rather than allowing Harry to stay at Diagon Alley after he blew up Aunt Marge, the Ministry sends Harry back to the Dursleys. Harry returns to school after a terrible summer, to find that he's not the only one with this kind of secret. A student has been killed by his family. New screening measures are put into place by the Ministry: Every student must be given a medical exam and interview to look for child abuse. With Dumbledore facing an inquiry, Snape is entrusted with the task of making sure EVERYONE receives one.

That is a lovely story. I can just imagine that deep voice reading a story. Great to see Sirius and Lupin agree on a cover story for Harry. And Harry having a dad and a chance at life. I really have enjoyed it.

This has been an amazing story. I really love how Harry is talking about his home life and why was he treated that way. No one had cared before. Also a good job explaining Severius and why he never claimed his son. Hard to put this work down.

This story is so great. You do such a good job showing the aftermath of child abuse. Even in Sever. Great growth of the characters.
