Voldemort is gone and Harry's relatives had no desire to keep Harry for long, so he was placed into an orphanage until he was adopted by a family. But when they pass away a few years later, he is placed into the custody of another who had just moved to Spinner's End. That is when Severus first saw the boy without even knowing who he was. The little boy, seven years old, who was always forgotten, uncared for and treated like filth. Severus watches this boy and sees a reflection of his own childhood. And when they meet, Severus vows to offer kindness where no one else does, in the form of a simple piece of food the boy lacked or a warm blanket for the cold days ahead. And when things get worst, he even offers shelter to the child the world had forgotten and cast aside.
The boy Severus now wants to save. Takes Place: 0 - Pre Hogwarts (before Harry is 11), 1st summer before Hogwarts - Snape flavour: None Tags: Adoption, Alternate Universe, Child fic, Runaway, Slytherin!Harry, Snape-meets-Dursleys Categories: Healer Snape, Parental Snape > Guardian Snape

Author's Response: haha :) Thanks for the review.
Sorry, I know I'm only commenting on a few chapters here and there, but know that I love every bit of it! Author's Response: I'm really glad you liked it! And you like Frogabook; I too have become rather fond of him. And I really apreciate every review my readers take a moment to write, so thank you so much. I'm glad you love it! I will be updating again in a moment. Thanks!

And this is an awesome story! I'm glad they were able to find a workable solution for Harry's sake. :D Hehehe...Do I sense possible romantic interest between the two in the future? I know it would probably take a while for it to develop, given Sev's strong love for Lily and distrust of people in general, and at least some distrust of Erin in particular (which, if I understood correctly, was because of her fondness of Sirius). And I really like Jack, too! I'm so glad that Harry has a friend he can rely on. I have to admit, though, I was really wary of him at first, but I'm glad he's turned out to be trustworthy! It'll be interesting to see how you resolve the whole separation thing when Harry goes to Hogwarts. Hehehe...I really like, too, that Sev obliviated Erin's mom. She deserved it after trying to harm Harry! Author's Response: I'm glad you like his room, I wasn't sure for a while what it would look like and was lucky to find a picture almost identical to what I had in mind. Thanks, I'm happy you think so. I do not think Erin and Severus will ever be romantically involved, though I have no ironed out the details there yet. Severus loves Lily, and Erin loves Sirius, so there's still a lot of deep emotions going on for them, directed at someone else. We shall see. And Severus distrusts people in general, but yes anyone who likes Sirius Black he feels should be watched closely lol. Jack is a character I too wasn't sure about at first, but he turned out to serve a lot of purposes at this stage of the story and I do enjoy writing him. When the time of separation comes and Harry has to go to Hogwarts, I think you will indeed be interested in how I have told that part of the story. Haha, I had to have Severus do something to Erin's mother, and personally I think it's less than what she deserved (she's done more harmful things than just this), but I knew something had to be done. Thank you SO very much for your review!! :D After helping Draco Malfoy escape the custody of Sirius Black, Harry endures the wrath of his Godfather. When Snape comes looking for Draco, Harry tells him that Draco has run away, and that he won’t tell him where Draco is unless Snape takes Harry with him. **Note** I'm aware that some of you don't like bad!Sirius stories. Don't worry, Sirius isn't actually in the story much, however there is redemption in the end. It's not so much that he's just bad, more that he's fallen. This story is about how people fall, and how they can make it back out in the end, getting a second chance. It is NOT a character bashing story.

Author's Response: Since Harry's magic was protecting both of them, when it stopped protecting him after Lucius showed up, it also stopped protecting her and because she was at St. Mungo's, there was no one to save her. I'm sorry it wasn't more clear. Thanks for the review. When he peeked around the corner he saw a prone boy that couldn't be Harry Potter sitting in a window sill with his knees pulled to his chest and tears streaking down his cheeks. What was going on in the child's mind for him to be crying like that?
