Wow, what a roller coaster ride of excitement! The bad news, the not-so-bad news, the not exactly good news, the bad news, the evil Deatheater seeing they've bonded appropriately, and will support each other as best they can! Buahahaha! Magnificent!
Author's Response: I was so worried about the new chapter, most people on ff.net seem confused and are wondering if Thomas is young Voldemort...*shakes head* Thank you for taking time to review! :D
The term continues on after Sirius' death, and Harry Potter is not okay. Wandering about aimlessly, Harry attempts to be who everyone wants him to be while slowly coming undone. Life has never been easy for The Boy Who Lived in the Cupboard Under the Stairs, but this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Will anybody notice that Harry Potter is breaking? Is there hope? Perhaps it will soon ring true that "not all who wander are lost."

Fantastic blow up! I can hardly wait to see how Severus handles Harry's hints about the Dursleys. I don't expect Severus will let Harry just run off with a mincemeat hand.
I've always thought Minerva too old to handle school children. Teens, yes, she steers them in the right direction, and seems to acknowledge they have hormones. But kids like Harry, his first three years - sheesh! He DID go to her for help and only got platitudes, and told it was none of his business. And when he went to tell her about Umbridge and she advised him to keep his head down, I lost even more respect for her. She seemed to be training her students that it is better to ask for forgiveness after having done something than to ask permission or help ahead of time.
Author's Response: Thank you! I agree with your insight regarding Minerva. Thanks for reading :)
Dumbledore told Harry that he wanted him to let Slughorn collect him. But Harry soon learns that being collected by Slughorn really means. Will he be able to save himself or will he succumb to the man for the greater good? And what does Severus have to do with it all? Was he too 'collected' by Slughorn and will he be able to save Harry before it's too late?

I've always thought that whomever taught potions when Snape attended Hogwarts was a likely child molester, since they never stood up for Snape, and never seemed to promote his brilliance in the art.
When canon revealed Slughorn's 'collection' I had reservations on what those students had been willing to sacrifice to obtain his recommendation. And I quite imagined that some of them were being blackmailed to this day.

Hermione comes through for you as she has always done for Jo (JKR), explaining what the class needs to know.
I'm impressed that Snape managed to get any kind of warning out at all, damned Dumbledore and his finessing of unbreakable vows.

Whoo! Scary Slughorn, comparing Harry to a young Severus, just because he's cheating by using his former teacher's annotated text book. If Slughorn is indicating his intent to do harm, he's touting to the wrong person. You know, Sluggy seems not to know WHY Severus hates him. I wonder if it's feigned to protect his image, or if the truth is even more complicated than it seems at first glance.
