I own nothing. AU to Shattered. Harry has Dissociative Identity Disorder. He's 8 years old when his aunt and uncle decide to abandon him. Lost and confused, he has nowhere to go...or does he?

Yay, an update! I did not expect Harry to reveal his condition at this point, but I suppose it was good that he did. Wow, Snape is pretty volatile, isn't he? Pointing his wand at an eight year old? Snape is really out of his depth. All in all, great job, and pleeeeease update soon.

Author's Response: Thank you! :D Well, to be fair, Snape was suddenly convinced Voldemort was possessing Harry, so. :p But yeah, that was not the best of reactions! I will do my best to actually update soon. :) (As long as you update yours soon. Mwahahaha.)

One unlucky hit with a strange spell. That's all it took to alter the course of Harry's life - and everyone else's life around him. Bound to stay within ten feet of each other, Harry Potter and Severus Snape have to learn to get along or die trying.

But sometimes in the hardest of times, one can learn things never imagined possible. After all, the past doesn't define the future.

Yay! Another chapter! And so quickly, too. I literally wanted to smack Snape upside the head. And the ending was a great way to close the chapter on an amusing note after all that angst.

Being sent to stay in a psychiatric ward at St. Mungo’s isn’t exactly the most enjoyable way to spend a summer, so naturally, Harry’s pretty angry when he finds out that’s his destination, regardless of whether or not it might be good for him. Facing a full summer of being cut off from the Order’s plans, Harry’s even taken to envying Snape, because at least Snape knows what is going on. But when Harry arrives at St. Mungo’s and discovers that a fire has changed his destination from the teen ward to the adult ward, everything is turned upside down. Enter his roommate - suicidal, depressed, and none other than Severus Snape. They are both willing to bet that their summer will be a total disaster, and maybe it will be, but even the surest of gamblers are not always right.

Takes Place: 6th summer - Snape flavour: Snape is Depressed

Thanks for updating! I'm loving this story; I very much enjoy your writing style, and the plot is really original.

Author's Response: You're welcome, Abie! It's wonderful to hear you like my writing style, and feel the plot is unique. I always try to make things just a little different from what would ordinarily be seen in fanfiction. Thanks for the review!

Great chapter, thanks. Really well done, as usual. I am looking forward to more Harry/Sev interaction. When will that start to pick up?

Author's Response: The interaction will pick up soon. The nightmare was the start of it, but I'm taking it slow, given their history and their current situation. Thanks so much for the review, Abie. Great to hear you are enjoying it!

Thanks for another great chapter! The part where Harry cried after speaking to Richard was especially moving.

Thanks for a wonderful chapter. It was really nice to see Harry and Snape develop an understanding. This chapter left me eager for more, so don't keep us waiting too long!

Author's Response: Hi, Abie! I am so glad you enjoyed the chapter. Haha, I will try to make the gap between this chapter and the next one shorter! It was a crazy month with work, so I didn't have much free time. :s I feel fairly confident I will get more writing time now.

Great chapter, as usual. Snape is acting more friendly with Harry and keeping less of a distance than I would expect of his character - I keep expecting him to blow up at Harry at one point or another - but I do like that aspect of the story. I'm surprised Dumbledore really didn't know about Snape being abused, but I'm glad he didn't as opposed to knowing and doing nothing. I can't wait for the veritaserum scene. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Hi Abie! Great to hear you are enjoying the story still. True, Snape has been pretty friendly. And yes, Dumbledore does tend to know just about everything, so it could definitely seem surprising he doens't know about Severus' past. My thoughts are that he didn't have all that much contact with student Snape, and as Severus never really mentioned his childhood, Dumbledore only suspected it to be less severe. Thanks a lot for the feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the chapter! :)

Thanks for another great chapter! Speaking as someone with personal experience with eating disorders, I feel that you've portrayed the concept quite accurately, and respectfully as well. Often, people tend to oversimplify mental health issues, and I appreciate the fact that you did not.

Author's Response: Hey Abie! Oh, I am so glad you feel that I did the concept justice - I have been lucky not to have suffered from an eating disorder, but have had very close friends who have. It's such a multi-faceted issue, and isn't just a fear of getting "fat"! So I am glad that you felt that portion was fairy accurate/respectful. Thanks so much for your feedback, Abie. It's always helpful to hear from people who have personal experience on the matter. Cheers!
