Blaise probably couldn't expect much, this time. Blaise was a Death Eater's kid, raised by, if not always Death Eaters, at least not blood traitors. Molly Weasley's soul was so clean it squeaked. It was a good thing Blaise had Snape to fall back on, for awhile. Mrs. Weasley was just too...not a Death Eater. Way, way too not a Death Eater to want to keep Blaise for very long.

- I've really been enjoying this story so far. You've done a great job with the characterization of Snape, in particular, which is never easy, and you've managed to take a story-line that has been used many times before and make it unique and compelling. I've also noticed real improvement in your writing when comparing the first chapter to the last. I hope to see another update soon.
It is late in the evening, but Severus Snape is finally ready to sit back in his chair beside a steaming cup and contemplate. Because Merlin's beard, is there a lot to contemplate. He finally lets himself feel the emotions churning mutedly inside him as he stares into the flames hissing in his hearth. Nothing that happened today is what he expected, and he is not prepared, not at all prepared, for a Potter in his house...

- This was a very well-written, engaging story. I enjoyed your characterization of Harry and Snape, and although Snape softened up more quickly than I would expect of his character, you didn't overdo the affection; he expressed his care for Harry in a very Snape-like manner. I appreciated your writing style as well; good prose is not something to take for granted in fanfiction, and smooth writing makes all the difference.

It is true that the Snape I wrote here is definitely quicker about warming up to Harry than canon Snape. :) thank you for the comment about my writing style! - This is excellent! I find the premise and interactions very believable, and I could very much see Harry and Snape's relationship developing into something like this if they'd been given the chance.
The mood of this story is illustrated so beautifully. I felt a sense of slowly creeping dread throughout that either Harry or Snape would not survive, and I still get that sense even though you left it open-ended. I would love to see a continuation of this someday, but even if that never happens, it stands so well on its own.

There’s definitely an open ending at the end, so I am considering expanding on this story or at least the concept of the removal of the horcrux. Thanks again for your lovely comment!

- Loved this. It's really challenging to keep Snape in character when he's on Harry's side, and your portrayal of him was perfect
“What— What are you doing?” To his credit, he manages to pull the child to a full stop by yanking him back, bringing him in closer to hold his shoulders again and glare at him in the eyes, no matter the way he winces at their familiar colour. “You are aware that you have just undergone a panic attack, are you not?”
