You're right, sometimes the sense of peace and calm you get from Christmas carols can drive away the stresses so prevelant this time of year, so I can see how they would also comfort Harry when he is feeling so terribly low - I'm glad Severus could offer him both comfort and guidance, as I see Harry as being someone in severe need of both!!

Thank you for the review, your response to the story was precicely what I was aiming for with the carol. Also, the second song was another religious song, so I was also wanting to convey a sense that the power of God (or whatever being is out there) is a power for Good, and that when Voldemort was encased in the white power, he was being forgiven for his multiple sins, sort of like he was being baptized.

Harry has trouble coming to terms with Sirius' death and finds himself once again having to take occlumency with Snape. This is the beginning of their growing relationship as Snape starts to see the green eyed wizard in a different light. Snape finds himself being a father figure to both Harry and Draco as the Dark Lord's power grows.

Hogwarts has been under siege for some time. The supplies are dwindling, food is running low and most of the potions have been spent... What a devastatingly grim AU!! You have captured the anguish and despair of the characters beautifully and I have no doubt this story will haunt me imy dreams tonight!! House-Elf fricassée!! **shudder**
Now I'm dying to know if Charlie and the dragons made it through OK, and saved the children at the school from starving to death, and how Harry and Severus et al are going to defeat the evil Death Eaters, because I have to believe they will if I want to get any sleep!! LOL

Charlie does indeed come with his dragon buddies and friends, they blow fire at all the Death Eaters, deliver food, and with their help and the angry parents of all the students at the school, they take all of them down. :) Happy? I hope you can sleep now.
