Severus Snape was discovered as a spy mere days before the start of the school year. Thankfully, Albus had been working on a vague contingency plan for this possibility. It had been inspired by the question, “What would it take for Severus Snape to see that he was wrong about Harry Potter?”
The answer? Force Severus to go undercover as Alfonse “Eli” Hopkirk, a sixth year Gryffindor.

- Man, I could feel the tension in that conversation at the end. I felt Harry's pain, and I'm pretty sure Eli had at least a little bit of an eye opening moment there.
If not, I'm sure a couple minutes with Momma Bear McGonagall will set him straight.. :)

- I actually read this last night, and tried to review, but I was SO STUNNED by that cliff hanger that I took too long, and it logged me out when I tried to Submit said review.
The "that escalated quickly" meme would do well here because hot damn that came out of left field. Here we were sitting and enjoying Severus learning just how awesome Harry is, and then BAM! Harry disappears like he's in some horror film.
PLEASE say you'll be updating sooner rather than later, because that cliffhanger is just... well it's torture!

- I am ridiculously glad that you'll be having a sequel, because if you ended it like that, with that animosity, and all the tension, with no... no... no... ah I can't think of the word. Conclusion isn't what I was thinking of, maybe if I keep talking it'll come back to me... nope, I'll remember it as soon as I hit Submit.
Suffice to say if there wasn't going to be a sequel I'd probably actually cry. Like legit, sit at work and cry out of frustration. But I'm kind of a baby like that.
Either way, what an amazing journey this has been, I'm SO glad I got a chance to be a part of it, and experience all the suspense while the story was being written.
Please get the sequel up soon, I can't wait to see where this goes.

This chapter also was great too, I'm going back and re-reading the story again start to finish because I just can't get enough.

"A Christmas Carol" is my favorite novella, movie, play, recording, you name it. My friends have plied me with a multitude of gifts along this theme over the years; the movie book, old copies, new copies, illustrated copies, children's copies, dvds of all the versions (except Cicely Tyson $170 is just too much for a VHS tape). They even found me a coloring book. I even have the song "Ebenezer Scrooge" by Teresa Brewer.

- I really enjoyed this story! The pacing was perfect - just like a true Christmas Carol story, and the 3 spirits were perfect as well!
I was a little stunned that you chose Tom as the Spirit of Christmas yet to come, but I enjoy what you did with him. Once I got over the initial shock I could just PICTURE his smarmy face hidden behind that cloak, his mannerisms, everything.
I felt so bad for little Lily in the Christmas past too, her heartbreak over what Petunia did to the dress, oh my god I was angry FOR her.
This ending though made me almost wonder what would transpire in the future with the change. I'd love to see a story where Dudley and Harry actually get to grow up enjoying each other as cousins/siblings, and not being spoiled.
Well, sorry, I'm rambling - just know this was an amazing story.

The hardest part was to choose the Marley substitute. If I followed true to DIckens, it should have been Lily or James as they were the declared dead. When I had the idea to use the muggle Tom Riddle, Sr., the character developed an atitude on me. He was snarky and not consoling.
Voldemort as the spirit of Christmeas yet to come? That to me was my first choice. I played off the prophecy that Harry's death would mean Voldemort's triumph. I'm glad R worked for you and you saw my vision.
Rowling played off that Petunia didn't like Lily in the books.I'm glad my details made you angry. IT was exactly what I was hoping for.
Dickens felt that a once off for Scrooge was all that was needed. I am sure that there will be times that the Dursleys will struggle. Probably no more Dicken's potion butit might be worth exploring. I never thought about a continuation but now...

- Maybe (just maybe, but probably not) Harry will learn to curb that temper a bit and think before he speaks, then he wouldn't be in some of the situations he's in.
