Author's Response: I don't know unless I'll have Snape tell it at some point. So far the story has with one exception been told entirely from Harry's POV, I'd gladly do it if that does not break too much from the style, though.
Book 2 of "Right in Front of Me" series. Voldemort is gaining power & Harry is sure that Draco is not to be trusted. Can Snape protect the dark haired boy he's come to love as a son, while shielding his precious family from the evils closing in on them? (HBP Year 6 - AU-ish w/ OC, but follows canon. Severitus - mentor/adoption - mentions sexual abuse, but no details - NO SLASH!)

[COMPLETE] After Harry blows up Aunt Marge and catches the Knight Bus to Diagonalley, he decides to take charge of his life when he learns he’s being sent back to Four Privet Drive. Harry spends the summer turning life in Diagonalley on its head, trying not to worry about the murderer Sirius Black, and attempting to avoid Severus Snape. - As much as I really want it to be revealed that Harry was abused by the Durselys to Snape. I would also like to imagine what it would be like if it never came out and Snape just raised Harry normally and Harry somehow turned out okay. Then years later when he's a well adjusted teen at hogwarts, Snape is teaching him occlumencey and unearths a tragic and scarring childhood. Snape is SHOOK and on a verge of a breakdown meanwhile Harry is nonchalant.
Snape *recounting all the things that may have fucked Harry up and freaking out*
Harry: I think I turned out pretty good all things considering
Snape *stares wide eyed, mentally screaming*
