Sniff. It's just like Merlin. Harry and Draco are two sides of the same coin, like Merlin and Arthur are. This made me cry so much. It descended into such violence... I was going to bawl my eyes out if Minerva was like Moody. So glad she is such a good human being.

- I can't wait for more! This is so good. Stayed up till almost 3 in the morning to finish this. Everything is perfect, except for the formatting on chapter 32. The large spaces between the sentences/paragraphs are bothersome, lol. Anyways, I love how Severus is IC - he refuses to see that he cares for Harry. He obviously cares for Draco, but he never says he loves him. I can imagine him admitting to being 'fond of Draco' though. Harry is amazing. Broken but still together. He manages to pull through every situation. Love Minerva. She is absolutely brilliant. I have to say that the slightly sane Voldemort was a surprise. Can see the reason why Voldemort offers to keep Harry alive though ... the horcrux and everything, and yes, I believe it is in Harry's right to not fight for the Light side. The so called training (more like torture session disguised as training) was horrendous. Stupid Dumbledore! He has gone too far in his manipulations. Love bashing fics, but Pen Pals is not necessarily bashing, more like misguided and believing your side is the right side and vice versa. The whole story is amazing. Love the idea of the soundboard. Magic is brilliant. Wish it was real. Sighs. Your fic makes me think of Silver Lining by BloodyRed_Queen (or something like that) on AO3. It is about Harry being an animagus and he stays as one throughout the year in the care of Snape because of extreme abuse from the hands of the Dursleys. He gets to know the Slytherins while going through an emotional roller coaster. Sorry this is so long. Tired, but don't want to go to bed. I don't know why. Rambling. Sorry. Gonna end this now. Just want to say that this is now one of my favorite fics. Can't wait for more.

Dumbledore told Harry that he wanted him to let Slughorn collect him. But Harry soon learns that being collected by Slughorn really means. Will he be able to save himself or will he succumb to the man for the greater good? And what does Severus have to do with it all? - I love the plot, especially Severus' and Albus' relationship - so twisted! I like how it was written - not graphic, yet it was obvious what happened. I love how protective the ghosts were! Can't wait for more.

- I know that Hermione is a main character in the HP series, but I can't help but dislike her. I think it is so annoying that she must pry into Snape's life, hasn't she heard of privacy? But I also know that she wants to protect Harry which makes her a good friend, but she gets on my nerves. Honestly! But I am biased as I like Slytherins more than the Gryffindors ... sorry I am ranting.
I love your fic! It adds so much depth to Severus. I love how Sprout is incorporated into it. That she sees the true Severus. Snape needs a hug, and even more of a friend on his side. I hope that the Malfoys are true friends to Severus. He needs them. I also love how Harry is also suspicious of Dumbledore's motives. It's brilliant.
Snape being a Parselmouth! Amazing. It adds to the dark nature that Severus has, but it also adds to the compassionate side. It adds to his character. He desperately wants Dumbledore's approval (I don't know if that is the right word), but he also is extremely protective of what is his ... he would never harm his snake. I love it - everything is amazing.
Author's Response: First of all, I'm sorry for not responding to your review sooner. For the past few months, I set aside my fanfiction and didn't log onto the site. It was fantastic to open the site after so long and read your response! I'm so glad you like my story and your observations about Snape are really accurate. He needs someone who believes in him, someone who doesn't see him as a monster. Actually, I always liked Hermione. She's a bit bossy and know-it-all but she's also strong and fair. But normally, I'm biased towards the Slytherins too. They're just the more complex and interesting characters. The Gryffindors will always pick the right path (at least in JK's world) but the Slytherins, they're more unpredictable. They're minds are simply intriguing. I always loved the idea of being a parselmouth! Communicating with snakes? What's cooler than that? I don't understand why it's generally considered such an evil ability.
