About me:

My name is Laura. I'm a fultime college student and I work part time at a doctors office. I started reading the Harry Potter series a couple of years ago (long after it had become popular). Originally, I wasn't going to be dragged into a fad... but then the book was just sitting on the footstood and I was really quite bored. Five books later I was attached (the sixth has since come out, I'm not so sure about that one). My friend Nefla kept sending me links to a fanfic she called AYLNO. I didn't know what that was all about, and kept shrugging her off. It wasn't until she came over and started reading the fic to me, that I finally started reading AYLNO (A Year Like None Other). The story was really quite long (completed now, by Aspen in the Sunlight, go read it if you haven't) and I spent every waking moment finishing the story.. Once I was done, I felt really quite sad, I wanted more...

So I started writing my own story. Harry Potter and the Ferratilis Potion. I'm trying to be creative with it, although it mirrors AYLNO in many ways. It's a Snape adopts Harry fic, (and a Draco will be in there somewhere). My friend Nefla pesteres me daily to write, so I suppose there'd be no fic without her influence. Along the way, I picked up an awesome beta, Sunsethill. She keeps my grammer in tact and my story flowing.

I've also gotten quite interested in kidfics, I find little Harry very cute. I briefly deaged Harry (to a young age) in HP and the F. Potion, but I wanted to do more. So I've just started my second story, A Potions Accident, is going to be a cute little kidfic. All of you who read my first story, never fear, I won't abandon it. This second story is more of my "just for fun" story. Not that both aren't fun... but A Potions Accident will be a lot less formal. I won't worry about technicalities and the plot may be a bit random. Just a bunch of cute little kids...

I also wrote a one-shot, Braving Spiders which was my first challenge response... it's an Sevitus.

Ah, and my pet (coming soon as Jan says) is named Petrie. (And he is very cute, trust me...)

A letter from home sends Harry down a path he'd never have walked on his own. A sixth year fic, this story follows Order of the Phoenix and disregards any canon events that occur after Book 5. Spoilers for the first five books. Have fun!

I like how early on you show how Snape supports Harry (such as physically in the hospital). And I noticed the first "breathe"... which might not actually be the first I don't know... anyway, it's surprising how much that one word brings to mind. All the support and strength Snape later gives to Harry.

Also, I liked how you had the pizza during the conversation between Snape and Harry. They were talking about a serious subject that could quickly turn mushy or cheezy... but with the humor of Snape grimacing with each bite of pizza. I think that really balanced out the scene.

The first decorum! I really like that word. And now the introduction to the needles. All I can think about that is "T_T poor Harry".

I also like that Snape is starting to care about Harry, in his own way. Especially his reaction to the fact that Harry had to endure the Cruciatus at 14. Oh and I like that Snape is giving Harry the chance to make his own decision on the bone marrow donation. That way, you can establish the danger of the procedure (instead of surprising us later, making it seem random, or that Snape is an idiot that he didn't know), and yet still have Harry go through with it (because of his saving people thing).

Title: Chapter 10: Tests 09 Mar 2007

First off, I've just noticed how similar the tests are, with Snape standing by, assuring Harry that he's not alone, to events later on. I think this forshadowing is an element that really makes your story so good. It makes your story solid with a well thought out plot. It seems as though you really knew where you were going with your story before you wrote it, instead of randomly going along.

Also, the second test is really funny, perfectly Snape like. And I like the little note that Snape sent Harry.

btw... although I've read this story before and I know it's posted elsewhere... I get really excited when you update. It's nice to read it again at a slower, more steady pace. (last time, I read it at every possible moment between work and school...I started the when you were nearly finished with it.)

Title: Chapter 11: Obliviate 10 Mar 2007

I love your Snape. LIke how he shows off, pretending that he really is going to Obliviate Hermione. Or how he remarked on Ron's face when Harry swore. All these little details make this story so entertaining. Oh and it's funny that Harry and Snape stayed in the dark for their conversation.

Title: Chapter 12: Heart To Heart 10 Mar 2007

I think this is one of my favorite chapters. One reason is because of the line "I'll fight for you, if it comes to that"... which in this scene is really light hearted (it seems), but grows to have deeper meaning. I also like Snape's attempts at being comforting "do not be apprehensive" lol. And I like Harry's reactions to things such as "that was just a bucketload of comfort". And Harry's drugged up/sickly ramblings are really funny/cute.

Title: Chapter 13: Finite Incantatem 12 Mar 2007

I think your portrayl of Harry is really accurate. I mean he would grieve over Petunia I think... but he wouldn't forget that she didn't treat him well... It's really sad that Harry's not allowed to go to the funeral.

Title: Chapter 14: Remus 12 Mar 2007
Reviewer: Arualcopia (Signed)
Snape is getting so cute. With his worried little self. It's really funny that he and Remus discuss how Harry needs a nap... that's just really funny.

Harry's angry little rant was cute too. I like how he remains strong despite everything that happens. And he knows he's not repressing his own magic.

Title: Chapter 15: Expecto Patronum 12 Mar 2007

Remus has always been funny. Too nice... like harry will break if he does magic in front of him.

It's cute how Harry stays up to wait for Snape. And I love Snape's joke about Dumbledore. It's even funnier because Harry thought Snape was serious.

Title: Chapter 16: Occlude Your Mind 13 Mar 2007
Reviewer: Arualcopia (Signed)
You're occlumency/clearing mind techniques are really cool. I wish I could do it (lol).

I really like how you develop Snape. It's not as though you're changing him to be nicer or something... but instead you're just giving him more layers. It's like meeting another side of Snape that was always there (at least potentially).

Title: Chapter 17: Sals 13 Mar 2007
Reviewer: Arualcopia (Signed)
Sals is the cutest pet ever. When I read this the first time through I was so worried that Sals would be evil... I dunno why. I told my friend (who had read your story first) that if Sals was evil I would stop reading. Speaking of Sals... where'd he/she go in ASLNO? (did you say, because I'm sorry if I forgot)

Oh and I really like how Snape made Harry apologize. It's a good contrast to how Remus is treating him.
