About me:

My name is Laura. I'm a fultime college student and I work part time at a doctors office. I started reading the Harry Potter series a couple of years ago (long after it had become popular). Originally, I wasn't going to be dragged into a fad... but then the book was just sitting on the footstood and I was really quite bored. Five books later I was attached (the sixth has since come out, I'm not so sure about that one). My friend Nefla kept sending me links to a fanfic she called AYLNO. I didn't know what that was all about, and kept shrugging her off. It wasn't until she came over and started reading the fic to me, that I finally started reading AYLNO (A Year Like None Other). The story was really quite long (completed now, by Aspen in the Sunlight, go read it if you haven't) and I spent every waking moment finishing the story.. Once I was done, I felt really quite sad, I wanted more...

So I started writing my own story. Harry Potter and the Ferratilis Potion. I'm trying to be creative with it, although it mirrors AYLNO in many ways. It's a Snape adopts Harry fic, (and a Draco will be in there somewhere). My friend Nefla pesteres me daily to write, so I suppose there'd be no fic without her influence. Along the way, I picked up an awesome beta, Sunsethill. She keeps my grammer in tact and my story flowing.

I've also gotten quite interested in kidfics, I find little Harry very cute. I briefly deaged Harry (to a young age) in HP and the F. Potion, but I wanted to do more. So I've just started my second story, A Potions Accident, is going to be a cute little kidfic. All of you who read my first story, never fear, I won't abandon it. This second story is more of my "just for fun" story. Not that both aren't fun... but A Potions Accident will be a lot less formal. I won't worry about technicalities and the plot may be a bit random. Just a bunch of cute little kids...

I also wrote a one-shot, Braving Spiders which was my first challenge response... it's an Sevitus.

Ah, and my pet (coming soon as Jan says) is named Petrie. (And he is very cute, trust me...)

A letter from home sends Harry down a path he'd never have walked on his own. A sixth year fic, this story follows Order of the Phoenix and disregards any canon events that occur after Book 5. Spoilers for the first five books. Have fun!

It's cute that Harry keeps mentioning the whiskey, it reminds me he is still just sixteen.

I forgot to mention earlier, but sals coloring is really cool. Sals is a snake in gryffindor colors... hhmmm... you know your story could be something students analyze and write essays about in english class (one of the good ones). So much foreshadowing, symbolism, and themes... Probably why your fic is the best fanfic... It's a classic!

I really like Remus' take on Harry's dreams. His explanations do make a lot of sense. Oh you do a good job of passing the time, like a while has passed, but you don't bore us with the day to day dribble... (a thing I struggle with T_T)

I can understand why Harry would really want to know. I mean it would be hard trusting Snape, spending so much time with the man... all the while worrying about what he'd done. But I feel for Snape at the same time... always having to prove yourself...
Great chapter btw, it's tense and interesting and I can't wait to read the next one...

Poor Snape, why can't Harry just leave him be? T_T

btw... when you mentioned that sals was missing, it made me... um, aprehensive. Even so, I look forward to an update.

I like your portral of Duddley, showing that even he can grow up. It gives him a lot more demention than just a bully, and considering all that's happened to him, it makes sense.

I like how you slowly bring Harry down to the cellar...nothing in your story ever seems random, everything so well thought out and plotted.

I also like that Snape and Harry made up... sort of, in their own way. But you'd didn't go overboard making it seem as though nothing had ever happened... because in real life it takes people a while to get over things.

I remember the first time I got to this chapter, I was so excited "finding sals"... I suppose he did find sals, but then T_T stupid Malfoy. This time reading it, I still wished that Harry could back out quickly (kind of like you hope the Titanic won't hit the ice burg) even when I know better... I like how you have Harry worry about everyone else, even under the circumstances.

Title: Chapter 24: What Must Be 18 Mar 2007

"What must be"... I'm glad you took us all through this, it is a small comfrot knowing that he will survive in the end. It gives Harry the strength to endure (aaaahhh I dunno If I can read the next chapter T_T). It's soooo sand because Harry knows what's going to happen and he knows he's going to have to put up with it... And there's nothing he can do. It must be aweful. I want to cry.

T_T I hate Lucius. This chapter is so horrible (not writing wise etc) but the content... what happened. It's so... T_T but it must be. It's sort of a turning point in your fic (as I think of it), where everything that happens afterwards, is so much stronger because of this. (It's hard to explain).
I do think you managed to have a incredibly horrible torture session (Harry T_T) without making it so over the top that it's unbelievable. Oh and since you had the Snape/pensive incident, you know that Snape is suffering through this too. This chapter must have been hard to write. (It's hard to read) ack I don't know what else to say. Please update soon, for the sanity of those reading the fic here for the first time. I think I'm gonna need to wonder over to the other site and read till I get to some happy bits. T_T

It's amazing, how detailed about the scene you are even though Harry couldn't see. And his mantra "what must be" is so sad. I can't imagine... poor Harry having to go through all of this T_T.

I'm glad that you keep his character strong though. He's not all injured and weak, but demanding answers from Dumbledore. Your fic really is amazing.

When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

The image of Snape stuffed in a cupboard is priceless...

Author's Response: Hehe...I couldn't resist. :) Too bad he wasn't conscious. That man deserves a little payback from Harry, don't you think?
