When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

- What an amazing story!I have just binge read this in the past few days and then I went back and re-read parts of it. So good.
I love how the relationship between Harry and Snape has developed so organically, and both of them seem in character. You perfectly convey that Harry is a bit of an annoying teenager who has his heart in the right place, and Snape is rough on the outside but really cares about his charge. The character development is just so captivatingly well done. There is so much weight in everything they say and even more in everything that is not said.
I am also so impressed by how you have managed to make the scope of the war feel large. Often times it seems like the Order's only job is protecting Harry, but in this fic I truly get a sense that this is a war and the Order has many parts to it. Likewise, Voldemort wants to get Harry, but he also has other goals. It makes everything feel higher stakes and more real.
I am so excited to see what happens next! Personally, I am hoping that Harry uses some of those new legimancy skills to take a peek into Snape's mind and get the whole story. Then, hopefully he throws everyone for a loop when he refuses to kill him.
You are a great story teller. I am so invested. I could go on about this all day. Stay safe in this crazy time!

Hi! Thank you so so much for your review! You know, I never thought this story would be this long. Then I realized that if I wanted their relationship to feel natural as it progressed, I was going to have to drag it out and approach the progression of the plot more organically. I'm so happy to hear that you think it worked well! Also, I know in my own reading, I appreciate when you get the sense that the rest of the world doesn't revolve around the main characters. It makes things feel more real. So yay that you like that part of the plot too! :)

- Really great chapter! I loved seeing Harry's thought process. You really showed that Harry was angry, but he had built up enough trust with Snape that he at least wants to talk to him before giving into that anger. Harry can see through his anger to that bigger picture, which also indicates that Harry himself is maturing. You found a way to make me still feel surprised even though I went into this chapter kinda knowing what would happen- at least in so far as I knew Harry would not kill Snape. Really looking forward to the next chapter when we get to see a bit more of Snape's reaction.

- I love this story! Please continue writing. Harry is so believable and Snape is well characterized too. I can't wait to see how it ends!

- I'm really enjoying this story. The interactions between Harry and the 4th years are so wholesome. You did a great job making some original characters that I'm starting to actually like more than the original characters. Looking forward to Harry telling Ron off and setting the record straight that Slytherin doesn't mean evil. Can't wait to see the Christmas fun with Lucas!

- I am hooked! You have such great characterizations. All the characters just feel real and are reacting in ways that suit them.
I am interested to see Draco's reaction when he learns that his mom knows where he is. I hope that he is able to see his parents soon and get some kind of reassurance. Ted seems like such a sweet guy, i'm not looking forward to his heart being broken by Draco's cruel words.
It seems like everyone was so focused on protecting Harry that they forgot that he also needs love and support. I'm excited to see Snape's growth toward being a caring guardian. Poor kid must be terrified that Snape is going to be punishing him worse than the Dursleys, without even school being an escape anymore.
Can't wait for the next chapter!
