Draco is always enthusiastic to spend the day with his uncle Sev, and he's extra excited when he gets to do so at Hogwarts this week. But only a few hours into the day and the headmaster visited the dungeons, bringing along an extra special "adventure" for the two. Harry Potter had runaway from his home at the Dursely's for the fifth time now, and Albus was starting to get flustered. None of the family service witches had seemed to do any help for little Harry, so Albus decided to send Severus this time. The only problem is that Harry's situation is much worse than Severus wanted to believe. What happens after Severus is witness to the boy's home life? How does Draco react to meeting the-boy-who-lived? Why is the headmaster so upset about it?

- I agree with Julian: I hate grape anything except pure grape juice and vine grapes, but as children of the 60s & 70s we also had the "lovely" cherry-flavored medicines, so except for cherry pie and bing cherries, I despise that flavor too! 🤢
I made sure that my kids had specialty-mixed meds when they had to have 'em; banana and strawberry cream were favorites as was one that was marshmallow. For some reason, my kids were constantly battling strep throat and ear infections! Wish I knew about zinc, D3, and HCQ when they were little, but despite that, they were extremely healthy!
I was what *I* call an "earth mother": When I was pregnant with my first, I found a book called "Let's Have Healthy Children" by Adell Davis. It was a treasure trove of healthy eating and living. I never took the prenatals cuz the amount of iron can be toxic to the growing fetus, especially boys.
I breastfed both my boys until they could hold a sippy cup and drink. Neither of them (10 year age difference) ever wore a "Pamper"; only cloth diapers with soft waterproof velcro covers. I never gave them commercial baby food either: Steamed veggies, fresh fruit, and whatever meat was for dinner. The baby food grinder was a Godsend!
Believe it or not but providing for my boys the way I did was *cheaper* than what most "modern" parents do. The baby industry is making a killing off new parents and as with the homemade baby food, definitely healthier! My boys grew up loving Brussel sprouts (soccer balls), carrots (bats), peas (baseballs), broccoli (trees), and even liver. I had a blast raising my boys! I miss that! They're 38 and 28 now and have families of their own.

- I believe that a society that would condemn a *child* for becoming "infected", through no fault of their own, with a disease that caused them to need a different type of "nutrition" (or frequent blood transfusions as in hemophilia) or need to be confined *once a month* is not a society that's worthy of continuing to be "blessed" with magic!
Our history has stories of children as young as 2 being condemned and murdered as "witches" merely for having a *birthmark*! What if that mindset still existed into modern times and any "mundane-born" child discovered to be magical was legally killed or quarantined in concentration-type camps!
I was really disgusted with this whole concept of "Rowling's"! She presented the idea as 'this is just the way it is' and kids *grow into accepting it* and adults have no problem with these "warts" on this society! "Ooo, 'magic'!" and go on their way!
Thank God for HPff where it's not unknown for these failings of the author and publisher to be addressed!
"Julian" is so precious that I don't see how anyone could fail to fall in love with him! Well, except for Umbitch; she'd probably kill her own kid if he got "infected"!

I will be following as I'm anxious to see Julian get well enough for his stomach to begin working and hope to see the GJ tube removed (sorry for an earlier comment showing my ignorance; we'd always heard it referred to as an IG tube for "internal" tube as opposed to an external feeding tube or NG tube)!
I'm also interested in seeing if this new formula can be continued even if were to heal enough to "feed" normally.
You've also got me very curious about his "attacker"(?). "Sire"?
Why was Dumblef*** continue with his stupidity in light of Julian's complete inability to participate in the MOB's "tests" [games!]? Is he insane?
I'll still follow this 'verse but I really *hope* that you're going to continue to "AU" this and *not* follow the "stations of the canon"; the series did not attempt to follow any kind of logic or use *any* form of critical thinking which I find beyond frustrating! By the extraordinary number of HPff found here, on LiveJournal, FFN, and AO3, and elsewhere, I'd say that a vast number of readers would agree!😁
I'm going to go see if you've got any of your "shorts" up.

Good! Severus' self(?)-induced delusions about Harry's home life are already beginning to fray!
I'll always believe that Dumbasf*** *wanted* Severus to believe the worst about Harry, so that he wouldn't object /too hard/ to the MOB's plans for Harry to become his very own sacrificial lamb!

Btw, yeah, the spelling on my pseud's different here: I've been on P&S since 2012, but when my late hubby and I were having probs in 2018, he deleted my email and I couldn't access my original account to change anything, so I had to re-subscribe. :p He apologized when we reconciled but the old email was unrecoverable.

So good to see that Severus isn't stone-hearted about the reported abuse! I've read stories (by Snape haters) where all Sev felt was glee that the child of his childhood nemesis had been abused! But I don't think even canon-Snape would have been that cold and morally bereft!
And the fact that he's already acknowledging that Harry's *his* child is an excellent sign!
But you've got me chewing my nails: Sev is a spy and bringing Harry into his home could be a "death sentence" for both of them and I absolutely *know* that Stumblingbore won't give a crap! He'll probably advise Sev to send Harry back to Durskaban; he won't want to give up his *weapon*!
I know, you probably don't despise AD as much as I do, but even "good!Dumbasadoor" makes me watch his hand for "the knife"!

Why do you like to do that to me?!
Harry, to me, is like Jane in "Jane Eyre" or Margaret in "Thursday's Child"; children who I want to grab up and take away from the awfulness of their lives!
It was these feelings of empathy and wanting to *change* things for those fictional children of abuse that made *me* decide, *knowingly*, fiercely *decide* that I *wouldn't* be the kind of parent that *I* grew up with! My firstborn being laid in my arms flipped a switch in me that said, "Playtime is over! The time of being irresponsible and just doing what *I* wanted after surviving my horrible childhood is *done*! It's time to grow up and be the best parent possible and show my parents how parenting is *supposed* to be done!" And I did! I read *everything*, but I mostly treated my sons how *I* had *wished* I'd been treated; with unconditional love and acceptance! My discipline was fair, balanced, and loving!
My mother finally admitted, just before she passed, that I was the mother she wished *she'd* had and been.
Is it any wonder that the HP books horrified me? What's even worse is that older child psychologists say that the books have set child abuse acknowledgment, prevention, and remedying back *30 YEARS*! Children think that because HP continued to be abused and maltreated throughout seven years of books that it must not be that important! WTH?!
Sorry, sorry, I'm climbing off the soapbox now.
Harry deserves better and I hope your Severus is going to give that to him!

I forgot to mention, a couple of chappies back: Thank you for acknowledging what a *git* the Headbasturd is! I predicted that AD would say that Harry would have to go back to Durskaban when he was found! You'd think he'd realize that if Harry so easily disappeared from there that the wards might already be compromised! Harry's *blood* was used in the ritual!

- Poor baby! This is horrible! I feel so bad for him!
I lost my beloved hubby last 10/31. We'd spent six weeks from the end of 2019 to Jan 2020 with him going thru daily radiation and 2 chemo treatments but they pronounced the tumor --center of his chest, between his left lung and aorta-- dead. But then they had the brilliant idea to give him "biotherapy"; "The miracle after cancer treatment!" to supposedly prevent the cancer from returning.
What they *didn't* tell us, never admitted to, and that *I* had to discover after Terry passed was that the treatment is *hard* on *healthy livers*, which Terry's wasn't!
Even when he began having "dementia-like" symptoms they didn't tell *me* what was causing it! I had begged them to refer us to the GI doctor to treat his previously diagnosed HepC BEFORE making Terry go through the biotherapy, but they refused!
The oncologist finally gave us the referral, 2 months before Terry died, but by then he was in stage 4 cirrhosis and experiencing nearly full-time hepatic encephalopathy.
Yeah, they killed the cancer and then killed his liver.
What I wouldn't have given to have the skills that Severus has! To be able to create medicines to give relief to his son and *work* towards a cure! The hospital in your story was as useless as the "Premiere 'teaching hospital" in TN that we put Terry's life into the hands of. What's very telling is that from 2004 to 2016 it *was* a *Great* hospital (Terry was a "frequent" flyer: Motorcycle wreck in '04, dx w/emphysema & COPD, arrhythmia & heart ablations in '08, '13, & '16, appendicitis '08, pneumothorax & lung reduction w/pleurodesis 2016) but I think they got bought in 2015/16 cuz all of the sudden the entire atmosphere of the hospital changed overnight! They went from being a wonderfully caring medical facility to being uncaring and financially driven!
Once again, I've 'word vomited all over your review.
I'll try to stop doing that! You should see what I cut out! 😲
