I'm a long-time reader at P&S, but am just starting my foray into writing! I began reading in grad/med school (so I'm a science person), but I love reading, writing, and films. I guess I'm a science dork with a penchant for fan fiction. 

I grew up going to a boarding school that reminds me VERY much of Hogwarts (no magic--obviously-- but I connected a lot with the universe that is created in the school dorms and halls). Those experiences were some of my most formative and happiest. I married a Brit who grew up in hardcore private schools (in the UK and South Africa) from the age of 6 where CP was a normal part of school life and he shares his experiences with me as well.

While I don't condone this in real life today, CP was very much been a normal and non-abusive part of home/school life for both of us growing up in the 80s/90s. As such, I write it into my fics where I think it is appropriate. If you hate it- that's totally cool and understandable- but please don't read it.
