I know I'm Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas, and I know that Snape as Scrooge is a bit cliched, but this wouldn't let me go. I've been saying that a lot lately. This is neither an homage nor a parody of A Christmas Carol, which I had to read three times over the course of my grade school education and don't actually like much, I'm just making loose use of it. I have lifted dialogue directly from Chapter 33 (The Prince's Tale) and a tiny bit from Chapter 19 (The Silver Doe) of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the US edition.
