You had me running the gamut from laughter to tears in this chapter. I know life is busy for you but I do hope that you can update this story sometime.

I do hope you are going to continue this as the whole series is absolutely delightful. =)

Author's Response: Oh I will continue.  I'm just reeeeeaaaaaally slow about it.

This chapter is so cute. I really hope that you update soon. This is probably my favorite series. I really wish there was more of it available for me to read.

Author's Response: I can't promise "soon", but will you settle for "eventually"?  Real Life keeps me incredibly busy with not a lot of time to write, but I'll get there, I promise.

Great!!! I just read through this story's prequel and this one in about two days; I just couldn't stop!!! I love the angle you take on Harry's personality and psyche -it's different than other stories I've read, and you do it very well. Can't wait for the next chapter! Please update soon!

Aww, so much of this chapter made me giggle (like Severus' commentary on Harry supposed age in Madam Malkin's being unwelcome ^^ or the incredibly cute early morning wake up call) But the end of it was so sad, it takes a brilliant writer to evoke such a wide range of emotions in a single chapter ^-^ Still love this fic to pieces ^^
hope life lets you update again soon,
    have fun x

Awwwwww! ::tears:: That was so sad! I loved this chapter and there is so much I could say about it. Like Harry falling asleep in Severus' bed and making his birthday list. But I'll settle for discussing my favorite part:

You definitely made me cry there at the end. I know I can relate to how Harry is feeling. Seeing someone else get something that you should've had, but never got and knowing you can't go back in time and change that. I've felt a similar way many times growing up and it sucks. It really does. So I'd say you got that spot-on. Great work!

I love Severus here. The way it dawned on him what Harry was feeling. Lovely.

Again, good job! I am so happy you updated and can't wait for the next chapter!

I'm glad you updated! It was very touching to read Harry and Snape's conversation at the end of the chapter. I hope that Harry will be able to have a more normal summer and year with Snape. I loved the scene in the clothing shop and how offended Harry was when Madame Malkin thought that he was nine of ten. Great chapter!

I really felt for Harry in this chapter. I enjoy the way you write their emotions but you don't overdo it. We can all just feel how they're feeling. Very well done.

    Author's Response:

Glad to hear the emotions aren't overdone, because that's really impossible to know until you get some feedback.

    Thanks once again for reviewing!

So good, as always. Your chapters are just a joy to read even when the topic is not all that joyful.

That conversation at the end was so well written. I could feel the pain and bitterness from both of them, once Severus understood of course. I'm not sure if you meant for Snape to be sad for Harry's loss or also for his own but I could feel both. I wish they could both get it back but of course that's futile.

Do you think Harry would ever pick up this self-deprecatingness of Snape's? I kind of want him to address his comments about "why anyone would want to be his little boy" and stuff he's said previously about his lack of skills as a guardian/father but Harry's so insecure himself at the moment I'm not sure he'd notice. It's something that bugs me though because I feel like you presented Snape doing this great and realistic job of it and he should know it. Harry alluded to that to Arthur before so we know he can see it.

This is really going back but I've reread lately and wondered: will we ever hear more of Luka or his parents? It would be fun for Harry to meet them maybe, or to see Snape with friends.

Anyways, thanks for another great chapter. Take care, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

    Author's Response:

First, thank you for such a lovely long review.

Regarding the end conversation -- I meant for Harry to feel his own loss of a childhood, Snape to feel a loss for his own childhood as well, but also feel a loss for the children he never had himself.

I don't think Harry will be the one to point out Snape's self deprecation.  You're right -- it's certainly there, but I think Harry is a little young yet to really conceive that adults can be insecure as well.

I'm not sure we'll ever hear more of Luka or his parents.  They were more of a backstory, really, and I'm not a big fan of OCs in fanfiction so I tend not to write them.  But who knows where this story will go.
