Reviews For Filling the Void
Author's Response: Oh I will continue. I'm just reeeeeaaaaaally slow about it.
Author's Response: I can't promise "soon", but will you settle for "eventually"? Real Life keeps me incredibly busy with not a lot of time to write, but I'll get there, I promise.
hope life lets you update again soon, have fun x
You definitely made me cry there at the end. I know I can relate to how Harry is feeling. Seeing someone else get something that you should've had, but never got and knowing you can't go back in time and change that. I've felt a similar way many times growing up and it sucks. It really does. So I'd say you got that spot-on. Great work! I love Severus here. The way it dawned on him what Harry was feeling. Lovely. Again, good job! I am so happy you updated and can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Glad to hear the emotions aren't overdone, because that's really impossible to know until you get some feedback. Thanks once again for reviewing!
That conversation at the end was so well written. I could feel the pain and bitterness from both of them, once Severus understood of course. I'm not sure if you meant for Snape to be sad for Harry's loss or also for his own but I could feel both. I wish they could both get it back but of course that's futile. Do you think Harry would ever pick up this self-deprecatingness of Snape's? I kind of want him to address his comments about "why anyone would want to be his little boy" and stuff he's said previously about his lack of skills as a guardian/father but Harry's so insecure himself at the moment I'm not sure he'd notice. It's something that bugs me though because I feel like you presented Snape doing this great and realistic job of it and he should know it. Harry alluded to that to Arthur before so we know he can see it. This is really going back but I've reread lately and wondered: will we ever hear more of Luka or his parents? It would be fun for Harry to meet them maybe, or to see Snape with friends. Anyways, thanks for another great chapter. Take care, and I'm looking forward to the next one! Author's Response: First, thank you for such a lovely long review. Regarding the end conversation -- I meant for Harry to feel his own loss of a childhood, Snape to feel a loss for his own childhood as well, but also feel a loss for the children he never had himself. I don't think Harry will be the one to point out Snape's self deprecation. You're right -- it's certainly there, but I think Harry is a little young yet to really conceive that adults can be insecure as well. I'm not sure we'll ever hear more of Luka or his parents. They were more of a backstory, really, and I'm not a big fan of OCs in fanfiction so I tend not to write them. But who knows where this story will go.
Author's Response: Thank you! More will come... |
