- I just found this and read it through. It's a very interesting idea and I hope you continue it.
Snape and Harry resume Occlumency lessons in book six, with significantly different results. Harry grieves for Sirius (rather than getting over his death impossibly quickly). Things... ensue...

- Okay, so there's really not that much to critique; I read the chapter probably three times and thought about it really hard, as i also adore comments. But I do think i may have found something.
"The old man smiled then, from his beard to his eyes." It feels a bit passive, I think, and a little halting. It's not a bad line at all, but it's not a great one either.
"The angle of Dumbledore’s head was such that his eyes again met Harry’s." This sentence feels a little odd. I understand what it is saying, but I don't know...
Also, I love how you're showing how Harry is changing, becoming more determined. In book 5, had Dumbledore asked about how everything was going he would have said no. In your story and in book 6, he says yes, but you also support it with why he has suddenly changed. which is very good, and this story totally rocks!

"The angle of Dumbledore’s head was such that his eyes again met Harry’s." This is probably a consequence of my technical writing. I like math, you see.
I'm glad you like my portrayal of Harry (and my story!).

- Wow. Nicely dark with a touch of humor at the end that made me burst out laughing.

- Ah, Harry sticking his nose into everything again. I can actually see Snape being like that about Harry's attempted suicide. He feels very real. Loving the story! What happened to the voice?

heh, i agree. Harry is probably one of the most intrusive characters in the history of literature.
i really didnt know how snape should act with harry's situation at first, but when i started writing this chapter it worked itself out. im glad i did it right and as for the voice, it's still there and will be sticking around for quite a while. Harry will be talking with it more and more in these next couple of chapters, though he wont find out what it is exactly more towards the ending of the story. thanks

- Nice chapter, but watch your use of accepted versus excepted. In the beginning you used excepted twice when it should have been accepted. But other than that, I enjoyed the chapter and hope for more.

What if Dudley was a wizard? And went to Hogwarts? Things aren't looking too good for Harry Potter, or for Severus Snape. AU, of course.

- I liked the fact that Harry fought back and punched Dudley. I don't think I've ever seen that in fanfiction...True, the detention is cliche but can we expect anything else from Snape? The chapter felt really short though; it could be because I was really into it and just wanted more, but also, there was only the finished half of one scene and one other. That's just me whining though.
I can't wait to see how it's all going to play out!

- I don't want brownies. I want another chapter!! Please?? I do have a question though, isn't Dudley a year older than Harry? Or are we just pretending he's the same age? Other than that, I do love the story.

Is he? I didn't know that.
I just assumed they were the same age and in the same school year.
Dudley had a birthday in the beginning of Philosopher's stone... And that was just before summer break, because when Harry got out of his cupboard again, summer vacation had started... So for the sake of the story, we'll assume he turned eleven than. :)

- ah dang...cliffie plus a wonderful story. amazing and frustrating combination. I love the way you are portraying the characters, they seem very cannon, and it feels like this could have most definitely taken place in the books. good job and update soon please!
