About me:

I have been aquainted with fanfiction for quite some time and find that in these days after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, that it has become all the more prominant staple in my life.  I have yet to try to write any Harry, Severus fanfiction or any pretaining to Harry Potter characters in general but enjoy reading them immensly!  Thus, I find myself to be a reader and reviewer instead of a writer...

...Well, perhaps not now anymore...I finally started posting my pre-Hogwarts fic, "The Truth About Tomorrow."

Ok, so reading and reviewing is still a lot better than writing, I'm not terribly creative and in my fic you'll find some borrowed information from other fics that you've read.  It's never something major, but the reference and connection can be seen if you look really closely.  This information also is usually something that has been accepted as 'true' in the fic world.  But the main plot of the fic is still mine...if I ever do plot it out fully.  I should really do that some day..

With a strange potion, new location and the odd Muggle Studies Professor along for the ride, Harry's in for an interesting summer, but why is Snape here? Dumbledore had better pray he gets all three back in one piece! Humor, Angst, No Mary Sues, No Romance, no real plot.

Title: Chapter 24: Forgotten in a Cupboard 09 Dec 2007
Reviewer: pkrosche (Signed)
I must say that I put off reading this fic for awhile. And, I'm ashamed because it's really good!! I never expected this much detail and such in depth characterization from all your characters. Really good update, too!

I do wonder if Harry is really getting better at concealing his thoughts or if Snape just realized how he needed a break from it all. I do like how Severus is changing his attitude towards Harry and even Hoppity. It seems that he's letting himself see Harry as a six year old finally instead of assuming that he's 'all there' and sixteen. I can't wait to see their relationship progress and see where they end up at the end of the summer.

I really liked how you handle Harry's being forgotten, eventhough he doesen't understand that he just hid too well. Severus' reaction to Harry's question of were you ever forgotten was great, well, not for Harry, but it was nice to see that bit of Severus' past linking him to Harry. Hopefully, there's also more of the 'bargin' between them that causes Snape to become closer to Harry as he finds out more about his home life with the Dursleys.

Again, really good chapter and I can't wait for the next update (coming soon, right?). Eventhough I don't think I'm going to enjoy it that much, a tantrum, from Harry? I realize that he's in the mind set of a six year old, but he's been so well behaved so far...oh well. I guess I'm banking on his hesitation to anger Hoppity and Snape, when it's obvious that he won't be locked in his cubbard and denied food, which were the only things that kept him from acting out before...ok. What ever you do, I'll read, so update!! I want to be able to write another review!

    Author's Response:

I'm so glad that you decided to give my story and characters a chance! :) I know that plot premises and summaries can put a reader off, but after reading so much of Harry Potter and Snape Gen fanfiction, I was sure that I would be able to make something worth reading, despite the off-putting idea of having an original female character as a main character, and for the story taking place in America.

The end of the summer will be quite a journey for Snape and Harry. Thanks for reminding me about the bargain! I've been working on this story for so long that I forget some things. :)

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I really enjoy reading your comments.

Harry was sent to the orphanage by the Dursley. How will a different life affect his character and perspective of things? and who is this mysterious 'uncle' looking for him?

Title: Chapter 8: Stranger 13 Sep 2007

Don't apologize for not describing Luc as other than 'stranger' or 'man' it makes sense that we don't have a different name to describe him, because Harry dosen't know who he is. But, who is he? I hope you update soon so we can understand the connection between the two of them. This is really a great story, the best of fanfics where Harry is still young. I can't wait to see what happens in the years before he goes to Hogwarts. How old is Harry, though? I remember reading that he was 5, but in another chapter (sorry, but I don't remember which one) he's described as being 6. Granted, Dan did send him a birthday present... Ok, so you update and I'll add this to my 'favorites' and read when you next post! (Contrary to what you have said previously about your writing-it is very good and it truly flows nicely; you don't have blatently obvious, if any at all, grammer or spelling mistakes. Just don't be too hard on yourself, this is a really great plot that you've got! Use it to your full advantage!)

At Lily's request, Albus Dumbledore has kept a secret from Severus Snape for 17 years. When Dumbledore learns that this secret plays a vital role in the war, however, it is Snape who is left to deal with the consequences. As Harry's true parentage is revealed, both his and Snape's futures become uncertain. The two must learn to work together in order to survive. PreHBP.

    Go Hermione!!

But, what happened in Harry's 5th year that Snape reminded him of? I haven't read that one in a while and can't come up with anything.

    Still as amazing as ever!

Woot!! You see? I'm almost up to the new updates...one question though, how did Harry get his wand back? Was it left on the astronomy tower(I can't remember) or did Snape filch it from Voldie's lair? Can't wait for more day light...and Hagrid's accent was right on too!

    Author's Response:

Lol, actually, you're really not almost up to the new updates--the chapters start getting a lot longer in the 30s. by word count, you're not even half way done... *blushes*. Sorry, hated to burst your bubble there. But by all means, keep pluggin along!

As for Harry's wand, I figure that since at this point, Voldemort still thinks Snape is spying on Dumbledore for him, he would have allowed him to retrieve the wand as another way to convince Dumbledore that Snape is loyal. That would be a good thing to include, actually.

As for Hagrid's accent- I cannot tell you how much I dread writing him, merely for the fact that it is difficult to get that accent down. I always have to sit here with a book in front of me for reference.

Thanks so much for your review, as well as for the ones before this!

Awwww, Harry and Severus are so good together in this chapter, I love it!

Does everyone at Hogwarts now know that Snape is Harry's dad now though?

Oohh! I love this one, really. But, Harry should give Madam Malkin fourty galleons, not sixty. And when did the Weasleys and Harry and Hermione go to the Burrow? I'm just a little confused at that, because Bill took Harry to Headquarters and then they flooed to Diagon Alley, from the Burrow. Otherwise, this story is amazing and you really have a great writing style-it really reads like a book and I can't wait to hit the little "next" button up there! Keep updating and I'll keep writing-I'll be to the end in no time.

Ok, this was another amazing chapter, and you really are worthy of the platonical love you dish out to us. But, one question, what happened to the mediwizard from St. Mungo's?

    Gasp.

At the Dursleys the summer after Sirius' death, Voldemort sends werewolves to attack Harry. Taken to Grimmauld Place by his rescuer, Severus Snape, Harry devises a disastrous plan to rescue Sirius from the veil, resulting in his being transfigured into a baby. Snape is the only one who can brew the potion to restore him, and is the only one to realize that Harry still retains his 16 year-old-mind. Over the summer and the first two potions which restore him to age eleven, Harry begins to feel that Snape is the only one who understands and can protect him. Is he right or has his deaging muddled his thinking? AU story for 6th year.

Wow, I haven't reviewed for your story before, but I've wanted to. This is an amazing rendition of every other fanfic I've read where Snape adopts Harry. However well I thought they protrayed everyone, you have done ten times better. I really can't explain it, AYLNO felt too fake, with Snape and Harry growing all mushy-but not here (eventhough I can see where you draw from that story). This last chapter was amazing to say the least, just like all the others. I hope you explain why it took so long for the house to reject Harry's ownership...or was it due to his outburst at Draco, demanding that he get out of his house? Well, anyway, good job with maintaining J.K.'s original characterization, it really keeps it amazing! I also hope that Harry opens up to Snape so we can know what went on those four days that he was captured (more so than Harry being subsequently tortured and healed by Malfoy and Lestrange, I have a feeling there was something else going on-please tell me I'm right!). Well, I look forward to updates with rapture and wish you good luck with the new school year (if you've got another year ahead of you, that is). I'm a freshman in college this year and start classes tomorrow and am thus finishing up reading some fanfic, before it's too late... But, this is DEFINATLY the BEST fanfic I have read in a long time!!

Author's Response: Well thank you, I'm glad you like my fic. I hipe you have fun at college, freshman year can be exciting. This year is my first year since Kindergarten that I will not be looking forward to the new school year. I'm glad that you liked this last chapter. While a lot of people have found it fun, some have mentioned that it seems a bit random. As though unrealistic that so much is happening to Harry back to back (and yes, i suppose that's true...). But I wanted to give him an extra jump start on spilling his guts to Snape about the torture. What better way than to make him recovering from an altered reality?

Yea for updates!! Especially when they're THIS GOOD!! I absolutly love your story and hope that life settles down some for you to write more! As happy as I am, I'm also really sad because I felt a little lost while reading this chapter, because I couldn't remember what happened when Harry was kidnapped by Voldemort. So I'm going to re-read this weekend!

Really great job of characterization with Severus as a new dad, not knowing how to act around Harry and how to comfort him. I can't remember, were Severus and his dad close or was he abusive in this fic? (They all run together after a time!) But I loved being inside his head, hearing him fuss over Harry (and Draco too, I suppose). I just can't wait to see what kind of relationship emerges between Harry and Severus. Hopefully though too, Harry does open up to him so they can truly be a family...but I don't know what to make of Draco. He's a firecracker and firecrackers (literal and figurative) make me nervous.

I can't wait to see more of him, though especially when Severus and Harry return to classes. It's always interesting to see how Severus handles his Slytherins after he betrays Voldemort and every story is different, so I'm looking forward to seeing your point of view! As cautious as I am about Draco, I'm also kinda worried about him. I have a feeling he's going to hurt himself inevetibly through his "friends" and possibly do harm to Severus, the little that we've seen of them together. It was some good thinking on Severus' part to put up wards preventing Harry and more importantly, Draco from doing magic.

I absolutly love those closing lines! It's just so Severus, and you're doing an awesome job recreating him in your own view! Keep writing!!
