Slytherin!
Desperate to escape his guilt and nightmares after the third task, Harry transforms into a hawk by accident and ends up breaking both wings and suffering partial memory loss. He is found by Snape, and while the professor nurses him back to health discovers the truth about Severus and who are really his friends and enemies at Hogwarts.

- ROFL! Sev's right--no firsties dies, the classroom (and the dungeons!) is in one piece--Harry did pretty well for his first time, especially for a fifteen-year-old. ::smirk::
My condolences, on teaching 7th grade English...! O.O It's bad enough driving the little rug-rats to and from school, and doing bus evacuation classes twice a year with 'em (it's SO unfair they won't let us use duct-tape...)--I can't imagine trying to cram knowledge into reluctant little skulls every day! ::shivers::

I agree, I used to long to duct tape one little brat to his chair every period, he thought it was okay to go across the room and talk to his friend in the middle of my discussion group! It was really hard, that's why I'm not teaching right now! Plus in FL the pay was God awful!

- WHEEEE!! Mt. St. Sirius has erupted, and he's spilling down the slopes towards the little townful of folks at his feet! Run for cover, Order members! ::snickering from the snug confines of my trusty flak jacket::
Boy you do Sirius' teenage-style angst well!! I wanted to pop Sirius one *right* in the kisser--! He's an otherwise (probably; jury's still out for me) intelligent man, who goes into meltdown at the mere mention of his arch-nemesis... ::snort:: His Att-i-tude ought'a last a good few chapters! ::whips out a bottle of Valium and offers it for Harry and Severus--just in case Severus is running low on Calming Draught as well as time to brew more:: I really enjoyed Harry letting Sirius have it, though--the git deserves a good yelling-at, at the *very* least. Remus' reaction ought to be rather fun, too, at least in how it will likely set Sirius off yet again!
I'll bet Sirius is gonna go spare on Snape yet again during the Order meeting. >=] I know, I know--that's a sucker bet...::rubbing hands gleefully and settling back to wait for next chapter::

- Ooo! This is one of the best Harry-sorted-Slytherin fics I've come across. ::wide, beaming smile:: Everyone seems quite in character for the different situation--and things are flowing logically from the simple changes you made to events. Keep writing! I want to watch Snape and Harry start to bond; and to see if Dumbledore's mistaken switch to Neville as his Prophecy Child gets the poor kid killed by the end of their first year! Heh--you've set Neville up to sprout a backbone, in record time; maybe he'll do okay after all. I don't care where you take this, so long as you keep up the good work!

(UPDATED: APR 02 2011) Snape wakes up from a coma to a new world in which Voldemort is dead and gone, defeated by Harry Potter. Deciding he has nothing more to live for, he tries to end his life, but things don't quite work out the way he planned. Harry gets pulled in by Dumbledore to assist with Snape's...little dilemma.

Harry's rather a bit OC, but I suppose an intense maturing period could account for that...and I was really annoyed with canon Harry from OotP an onwards, anyways. =}
I hope this story isn't near ending yet! I want to see who Lily is born as! It would be absolutely *hysterical* if it was Hermione and Ron's future daughter...!!
Author's Response: Oh, I absolutely AGREE with you! About Harry's characterization, I mean. :P I remember when I started reading the fifth book, all the points where JKR had him screaming in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS-- that really, really got irritating after a while. I just stopped reading. I loved Harry's character from books 1-4. After 5, it just seemed really...off to me. I don't know. This is how I pictured he would mature over the years. To me, everything that happened to him would make him more contemplative; jaded, if you will. He would still be reckless, but he wouldn't be...the way JKR wrote him to be, I guess. I don't know. I really found Harry's character from books 5-7 rather annoying as well. Daniel Radcliffe plays it A LOT better, in my opinion.
A worried, preoccupied Harry finds an apt distraction in an impromptu animal rescue mission. Unfortunately for him, it does not go quite the way he planned. In fact, it goes very wrong.

Author's Response: Lol, that was the most entertaining review I've ever read. Thank you. I don't think they'll ever master enough subtlety to spy, even if they worked on it 24/7--he will try to break the habit, but he's got a looong way to go.

- Heh! Love it! I always get a kick out of the humorous versions of Snape & Harry--especially when they *don't* go so far out of character they're unrecognizable. And I do so love it when Umbridge gets taken out!

- Hm. This is interesting so far; I'm curious as to how it will go. There have been so many Slytherin!Harry fics; but not so many that deal anything like realistically with how Harry (or anybody else!) would be. ::settles in to wait for the next chapter::
