How sad that neither the child of eleven nor the child of 31 are "fooled by the Headmaster's grandfatherly manner."
Although no one had been watching out for Harry before, I know that will not be the case now. An unbreakable vow Severus? Good for you.
I am so glad that Harry is opening up and telling another what his life had been like with the Dursleys.

What an interesting title for the book Teddy found. As always, I like how you're blending canon with your own spin of things.
Sorry you're not doing well. I hope things turn around soon for you.

Whoa! You've really placed quite a task before yourself haven't you? I thought Snape's tirade in class ws awesome enough but then I read his explanation of what Harry is to expect over the next few days. Whoa!!
Seriously intense reading ahead, I am sure.

Luna is one of my fave characters - even before I read your story. Now that I have, I think she is my absolute favorite of them all.
Thank you for portraying her so well.

Wow. I thought Snape was going to kill him too. *shrugs* Guess Dumbledore didn't get him out quick enough, huh?

Wow. What an amazing coaster ride you've sent us on this chapter.
I really enjoyed Severus wanting to, but knowing that he shouldn't, interfere with Luna's father's parenting skills.
I almost feel sorry for Dumbledore when Molly gets ahold of him. That woman is a terror to behold at times.
"I was under the impression that you didn't feel adults owed anything in the way of decent behavior to children in their care." Ouch! Snape sure got to the heart of the matter with Harry didn't he?
I agree with Snape when he said he didn't want to disbelieve Harry's ability and willingness to defend himself from his oaf of an uncle. I don't want to dibelieve either, but have seen no indication to the contrary. Even Harry seems to be unsure of his own potential actions.

Good job. I'm sure that Harry wouldn't be able to explain his inability to ask for help. Really, if you think about it, he's never been able to get help from an adult when he needs it. Even if he would think about asking Snape there would still be a part telling him not to so that he's not disappointed again. Especially by someone who he's starting to care about.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, Harry was still very confused about his feelings for Severus here. Or maybe not so much confused, but just not sure if he can completely trust Severus yet, especially once they were back in the classroom and Severus was 'Professor Snape' and not just 'Severus'. And yes, Harry has been let down too many times before to trust adults easily. It is a very good thing that Severus handled the situation so well. I see that moment in class as a point where their relationship could have gone either way...if he had reacted in anger to Harry not knowing the material, Harry would have had a hard time trusting him again.

Oooooo, if Harry thought he had learned some new phrases when Snape learned about him being denied food that's nothing like what he's going to hear when Snape learns about the blood quill.
You did a wonderful job of Snape's reactions to the abuse Harry grew up with. I could easily see how Snape was reliving so much of his own past in Harry's words.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, Severus will not be pleased with Umbridge. And I'm really looking forward to when Severus opens up to Harry and tells him more about his own past, though it won't happen for a time yet. But I think that will be another big step for them, and it will give Harry a chance to be the strong, comforting one.
