I read and write Harry Potter fanfic.

My current fic is being posted at http://imuptonogood.livejournal.com, and is a Post DH story following Harry, Draco, the Weasleys, and a few others, after DH (ignoring the epilogue).  It is canon compliant, but I managed to rescue Snape.

 I am an omnivorous reader when it comes to Harry Potter genres, but I prefer those where Harry and Snape can reconcile... eventually.

    This is lovely. I like the growing honesty between Severus and Harry, and I like that the Acrimony is diiminishing, ever so slowly (slowly is good, else it would be OOC). I hope they end up friends. It is so odd to consider that the son has so much authority over the father. I am fascinated to see that dynamic grow.

    Looking forward to more updates!

    Thank you, I'm glad you like it so far.  As I've said in other reviews, they will not become friends, but they will come to a sort of ceasefire/understanding.

    This is a fascinating and unique take on the Snape is related to Harry story. Very nice so far.

    One editorial comment: You routinely use "of" instead of "have" (it should be would have, could have, should have.)

    Now, a question... I've always wondered where the name Hayden came from for Harry's brother? So many fanfics use it.

    Hi, and thank you.

    I chose Hayden for a name becuase way back when I was young, I had indentical twins in my class. Harry and Hayden were their names as you can guess, and so it just came to me. As for why so many other fanfics use it I have no idea. It can't be for the meaning at least, unless having a name that means The Rosy Meadow is some how a plot point....

Harry hates Mondays. Occlumency is on Monday. Every Monday was the same, but this one would be different, and this one would change, everything. During a brutal Occulmency lesson, Harry snaps and breaks down; and Severus saw something in Harry that he as never seen before; and something in himself that he had forgotten existed.

    Interesting chapter.

    I loved the Patronus scene. They know better than their casters that they are friends.

    I also was amused by Severus' wilful blindness. His approach to teaching is so arrogant: "Severus spent the next forty minutes demonstrating his utter grasp of the discipline to Harry..." Someone should tell Severus that the point is not to demonstrate his own competence, but to instill that competence in his student! (And then that person should duck!)

    A few typos, (if you don't mind a reader taking on a temporary "beta" hat):

    "Harry braised himself for another assault." (braised should be braced)

    "One, two, three. Legilimence." (Should be Legilimens)

    "And control, Potter, is (one) the very thing you seem to lack." (delete one)

    "The concepts are not (as) difficult as intricate" (might be better: not so much difficult as intricate)

    "It seems that he has took Dumbledore's words to heart" (took should be taken).




    Enjoying this fic. I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
