...Harry was more than ready to agree with that and nodded as he finished the drink he had been sipping at nervously.
It has been often said that a father and son can overcome anything, that family can overcome anything as long as there is love between them...but what if there isn't love but only hate? In a time of war most rely on their family and friends, but who can Harry rely on when he can't tell his friends that Severus Snape is his father? Especially with how curious they are of his secrets already. It isn't like he has Snape, anyway...to Snape he isn't more than just a burden after all, right? So in his time of need who can Harry turn to? Who can help him as he completes the task that was set on him?

- Not bad, watch your formatting, though. It posted as one long paragraph, which I don't think you meant to happen. ;-) Also, the letter needed betaing...
Other than that, I'm enjoying this fic.

The letter did need a lot of betaing...I think that might have been my third or fourth attempt at it and in my opinion every one of them sucked...I don't write letters. I just couldn't capture James' voice in the letter. I couldn't keep it together myself while writing it that at times I just thought of giving up on it...but my best friend made me write it. lol...she insted on it.
As to the formatting accident. It was my fault from earlier last night. My flashdrive and computer weren't happy with each other and might have accidentally messed up the formatting...I mean when I closed and re-opened the document it wa in a different font even...so I think that was the problem even though it looked fine when I was uploading it...I also didn't check on it afterwards like I usually do to make sure it's okay...but it has been fixed and it's fine. thank you for telling me about the problem.

Summer after fourth year is finally over, and things are not as expected when Harry makes it back to the magical world. Badly broken and determined for it to stop, Harry turns to, surprisingly, a certain Potions Master, who in turn finds within himself, of all places, a heart still beating and waiting to love, and be loved in turn.

Snape, not Umbridge, is the one to discover the secret DA meetings in OotP. Using one of Aesop's fables, "The Wolf and the Lamb," he gives Harry a little timeless advice regarding the great game of life. - How funny! Poor Harry is going to be finding feathers for months! I know - I had a puppy who ripped through a huge foam pillow when I was a teen, and I still found pieces of foam years later, hiding under the rug! Oy!
And of course, being a typical 5 year old, he won't learn his lesson...
Author's Response: You're right, feathers are the worst to clean up. My niece broke open a feather pillow once and it took months to find all the feathers. And Harry won't learn his lesson anytime soo, the scamp!

Author's Response: No it isn't, a friend of mine almost lost her Maltese to a chocolate bar once. And yes, Summer is the reason why Severus never allowed a dog in his house ever again, LOL! Of course, then he got Inky . . .
