Snape is left dying in the Shrieking Shack after giving Harry his memories convinced that Harry is going to his death. When Snape dies, he is given a chance to send his soul backwards in time seven years to give Harry a chance for a better (and hopefully longer) life. Will switch back and fourth between being Snape centered and Harry centered.

Response to Burned Hedwig Challenge... After blowing up his aunt, Harry's uncle abuses him farther than his mental capacity can stand. Even his cousin is concerned, and sends a letter by way of owl "To Whom It May Concern" pleading for his cousins sake for help. But Harry needs more than to be taken from his family. He needs to gain the will to live.

- Some Death Eater Snape is. Can't he tell that Harry's responses are conditioned?
Author's Response: Normally he might be able to, but he's always had a blind spot when it comes to Harry... Eventually he'll be able to see past that but unlike some of my other stories, I didn't want him to seem too OOC to soon. There has to be some time to build up to it. After seeing as much torture as Snape's seen, I don't think that seeing Harry bloodied up the one time would make him completely change how he feels. Not to mention the fact that, although he needs to look for certain things for his spying duties, they are usually pertaining to adults. Snape hasn't really been trained in child psychology.
When Fred & George stole the Marauder's Map in their first year, they didn't expect the secrets it would reveal years later. How will Harry & Snape adjust to the new discoveries & how will it effect the wizarding world? AU, canon through OoTP. SEVERITUS.

- Lemme guess... Lily wanted to use her own blood because James wasn't really Harry's father. I bet Harry'll look more like Snape once the previous potion wears off.

Instead of the Weasleys coming to get Harry in the flying car, Snape shows up at Privet Drive to rescue him, because he did not not show up for the start of his second year at Hogwarts. Will eventually be a Snape-adopts-Harry fic.

Why is Albus being so stubborn? Maybe if he did send an owl to the Dursleys and it never returned or came back injured, he'd get a clue.
Author's Response: Albus is in denial. He wants to believe that the Dursleys do care a little about Harry. While this is true for Petunia and for Dudley too, it's definitely not for Vernon. He thinks that they *have* to care because he's family.... but they really don't. Another reason for his denial is that he doesn't want to believe he was completely mistaken in leaving Harry with the Dursleys. He doesn't want to admit this to himself or others. He'll get a clue at some point though. I'm sure Severus will force him to do so eventually, haha. Anyway, thanks a lot for the review!

BTW: (he conjured a vial of dreamless sleep) Shouldn't that be "summoned a vial"? Potions can't be conjured. Severus would know that.
