- What I enjoy most about the dialog in this story are the silences. So much of what happens in a real conversation is about pausing, rushing, being distracted, thinking about something else-- the pauses in this story have that kind of richness.
Author's Response: Wow. Thanks so much for that. It is a challenge to write dialogue between Snape and Harry because neither of them are very forthcoming, so the silences are what indicate what's really going on. I'm really glad you appreciate that aspect of the story.

- I'm enjoying this story very much-- I especially like the realistic dialogue. As for realism, I don't think there are any rules for when someone is ready to talk about abuse. In the context of how dire the situation is and how he is currently removed from the world of his abusers, it seems right that Harry is taking a chance to get help. Anyway, it depends on if it is right for this story for this event to happen now-- it doesn't have to take ten chapters if the author's point is to focus on recovery.

- I don't like to sound like I'm pressuring an author for more, but I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. I really like the interactions between Severus and Harry, but I'm also excited about the idea that Nott could become part of the story. Even though Harry is willing to risk everything by talking to Snape, with his history, it seems like having a peer that understands would help a lot.
Harry unexpectedly finds himself being tutored by Professor Snape. And as if that wasn't weird enough, Snape's actually nice to him.
On the other side, Snape cannot fathom why he'd suddenly feel so protective of Harry bloody Potter! What is the reason behind this development and will it last?
They'll find out one thing: love truly is a charm.

- I agree with another reviewer-- they story just gets better as it goes on. Knowing its already done is making it very hard to wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: I'm mean that way - I wrote the whole story because I don't want to get too influenced with where it goes. I get tangled up in readers expectations, so I wanted it finished already. I could post the whole thing - but I would miss your comments to each chapter ;) muhahahaha
Harry's spiralling out of control. After a particularly brutal summer in Little Whinging, he craves power like he's never known before. It starts small, a curious, tentative dark curse here and there, nothing major. Accidental at first, really. It just keep growing and growing. He's addicted and he can't stop. Not that he really seems to want to.
Snape is sick of the boy's lack of concentration and respect. For his own sanity and his love for Lily, he realises that he must do something about Potter's recent behaviour. He doesn't like what he finds.

- This is really, really interesting. I've read other Dark!Harry stories, but I think this is very original. I'm glad I waited until there was a few chapters up because they were all such interesting little bites-- I will try to have some patience now and wait for the next installment, but it will be difficult.

- I really like that this story has moved on from the abuse and is focusing on recovery. It's also great that a professional therapist has been brought in and Sev has some training to deal with issues of abuse.
Author's Response: Thanks in so glad you like it! I wanted Severus involved in the recovery, so I wanted him to have some experience, but I didn't want to deviate too much from canon and make him a complete professional. And it would be completely unrealistic to not have some kind of professional helping Harry. The rest of the story won't focus too much on therapy itself but definitely on the recovery. Drawing out the abuse does not make sense in my mind, it doesn't make as good a story. I'm thinking about posting a couple scenes that I had thought up in the course of writing though. I expect only about 4 chapters more for this story though, which means we'll be skipping some through time, so it won't be an incredibly detailed recovery I guess. Hopefully no one minds.
