- I did enjoy it very much - it was very cute! I'm glad Severus and Selene were able to cheer each other up, and I like how you made Father Christmas 'real' in the end.

- I like it, I like it a lot! Very Christmas-y and funny. I especially liked how Snape reacted when he thought Harry was leading him up the garden path, and the ending is so sweet! Thanks for sharing!
Dumbledore sends Severus to check in on five year old Harry, he finds a very abused little boy who thinks his name is Freak. After rescuing him he takes him to Hogwarts only to find that Harry prefers him over anyone else. He tries to care for the child who doesn't think he deserves happiness or love. Will Severus be able convince him that his name isn't Freak and he does deserve to be happy?

- Sweet and sad - I hope Severus can manage to persuade him that he does deserve his name in the end. If you want to write a prequel, I suppose you could always split the chapter in half and write about what Severus was doing at that time and then write something like 'little did Severus know that he'd one day be the Guardian of the Boy Who Lived.' I think that would let you get away with putting it on P&S. But, anyway - lovely story and I'm really glad that updating so quickly. Looking forward to the feast!

- Congrats on getting featured status! I loved the way you told almost all of this story as Harry talking to his new batman toy - it sounds exactly like something a boy of that age would do, and I was falling about when he started calling Snape Batman! What a wonderfully innocent, original way of going over the old 'bat' joke. The interaction between the two at the end was sweet too. I do hope one day you'll consider writing a follow-up to this - even if it's just a drabble. That would be something I'd love to read - it has real potential as a oneshot that could evolve into something longer.
*snort* Just remembered your Harry asking about Snape's pants - there's no way I could not love that.
Just one tip: the way I was taught to write separate paragraphs of direct speech by the same person (with no interruptions) was to always start the new paragraph with a " but not put it at the end of that same paragraph (unless the character has finished speaking).
e.g:
"Speech.
"Speech.
"Speech."
But, anyway, that's how I was taught, so your way might be different - just thought I'd mention it :)

Thanks--I just found out today, lol! I've been on choir tour all week and had a pleasant surprise waiting for me when I got back! Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have been toying with the idea of a one-shot sequel, but I make no promises. I do think it would make a nice beginning for a longer fic as well, but I already have too many unfinished works on fanfiction.net and really shouldn't start another one now, lol.
Thanks for the writing tip too--punctuation is definitely something I need to improve on. I've been trying to work on it using a manual I have for college and by reading beta recommendations from ObsidianEmbrace. However, this baby was not beta-ed and probably does need some work. Had I realized it would get more reviews than any other oneshot I've ever written, I would have asked someone to do it, lol. I'm still rather astonished at how successful this is because I came up with the idea literally at 3 am one night and just started writing it on a whim. I'm glad everyone likes it though. Thanks for your support!

- *facepalm* I am an idiot - I've just spotted an error I forgot to mark down in the first line. Instead of 'considering the first Snape's words' it's meant to be 'considering Snape's first words'. *sigh* Anyway, I still absolutely love this story - the breaks in it keep it choppy and stops it from dragging any and the ideas in it are presented in an original way - I can't wait to find out what you have planned for the sequel. Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

- Ooo, exciting. I can already foresee fireworks between those two! You've done well with setting the scene so far and I'm definitely looking forward to the 'story' part. I would advise splitting up the paragraphs a bit more though, so they're easier to read through. Otherwise, great start!

- Ah! You're writing faster than I can keep up! Anyway - brilliant chapter - and it covered loads of ground. I especially liked the way you handled the inter-house co-operation and the various ways Harry avoided Snape. The way Snape reeled him in, though, was perfect! My favourite part was definitely when Snape managed to trick Harry into revealing his secret and Harry's reaction to that...! Oh, and yes the paragraphs are much better now - five or six lines high is probably the most you can get away with without it looking too much like block text.
Just two things I noticed:
The Matron looked taken aback at his frowardness - Should be 'forwardness'.
And Quiddich should be Quidditch.
Other than that, great chapter! I'm going right on to read the next!
