| Well, more of a favourite quote: "There is no use trying, said Alice; one can't believe impossible things. I dare say you haven't had much practice, said the Queen. When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Alice in Wonderland -Lewis Carroll [Report This]

Being sent to stay in a psychiatric ward at St. Mungo’s isn’t exactly the most enjoyable way to spend a summer, so naturally, Harry’s pretty angry when he finds out that’s his destination, regardless of whether or not it might be good for him. Facing a full summer of being cut off from the Order’s plans, Harry’s even taken to envying Snape, because at least Snape knows what is going on. But when Harry arrives at St. Mungo’s and discovers that a fire has changed his destination from the teen ward to the adult ward, everything is turned upside down. Enter his roommate - suicidal, depressed, and none other than Severus Snape. They are both willing to bet that their summer will be a total disaster, and maybe it will be, but even the surest of gamblers are not always right.

Happy ending! :-)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, cckeimig! You know, this almost wasn't a happy ending at all. I was so, incredibly close to having Stephen die accidentally after cutting himself too deep, when his father told him he couldn't go away for school like they'd agreed. Lucky for Stephen, he's at Beauxbatons, and not dead. Close shave for him ... Cheers!

I'm enjoying this story. I know you've done a lot of work on the grammar, but unfortunately there are still a lot of tense and word choice errors. Still, it's a good story and I'm looking forward to more as you continue to repost chapters.
Author's Response: Hi, yes they are there, this isnt a work of published fiction, it's fanfiction. Gone however are the rundown sentences and bad dialogue. If you had read the previous version like some of the other readers, you would know, this baby is ALOT better. Like it was so bad before it took away from the read. And I applaud the readers who muddled through it and stuck with it, it was encouraging. As it was I can't get a beta, and I dont really want one. They're schedules and mine can never fit and I dont like the pressure of someone waiting on a chapter. I'm glad you liked it however and thanks for your review.
Sequel to A Travesty; In his fourth year, Harry is unwittingly entered into the Triwizard Tournament. Forced to compete, Harry must find his way at Durmstrang while trying to avoid the dark influences that could be responsible for his being there. The end of the year may just bring the end of Harry's innocence as things take a turn towards the dark.

Very exciting story, really. I have been trying to guess at which is your native language... Is it French? I thought at first Spanish because of some of your directly-translated words and structures, but I am convinced it's not Spanish... Especially with as many French words that popped up here and there throughout...
Author's Response: Thank you for appreciating the story! I lived in France for several years during my adolescence, so my French would be better than my English (but as I don't live there any longer it has a tendency to fade away). Both languages are still foreign languages for me, however. I believe I have a tendency to choose words that I recognise from French when I write in English, wherein lies a danger as there is often a slight change of meaning and I risk to get it wrong... My native language is one of the Scandinavian languages - guess that's hard to guess :-)
