When the saved hates the savior, magic demands justice and forms a slavery bond. Severus has saved Harry's life one too many times and the bond has formed, beyond anyone's power to dissolve.

Author's Response: Oh, yes, Snape will open up eventually. Thanks! :)
Author's Response: Severus will not notice it through the bond because that's not how the bond works. The bond doesn't care about the slave at all. It's entirely about the master, because the function of the bond is for the slave to repay the master.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you like the story! Yeah, the background is the only reason Snape is being decent at all. Just as a warning, though, the bond will force Snape's hand occationally, literally, and while he wants to be decent, he may do some cruel things. Oh, yes, the bond was definitely telling him to get Harry. Not because of how the Dursleys were treating him, but because Snape didn't have his slave helping him with all the work he was doing. Snape will probably make some comment about Harry's scars, maybe even have a conversation about it, but Snape will still brand him to save him the bowing and scraping. Well, I can't say what getting a brand feels like since I don't have one, but brands are usually made with red hot iron. I have burned myself on kitchen things, so I suppose imagine that a thousand times worse, especially when it has to stay there for a few seconds.
So Snape got his revenge on Sirius, but now he's messed up with Harry. Too bad he can't just obliviate the kid. Their conversation was NOT for children's ears, and Snape had already decided to not tell Harry everything Sirius did to him. This is going to be one awkward and painful conversation. I can't wait. I just realized that Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters were probably a lot kinder to Snape than James and Sirius. Of course, they probably made Snape torture and kill, which wounded his soul, but I think Snape would blame James for that too. Great story and development. I noticed that you did use the reporter. :) Author's Response: I think of the three things you mentioned that Harry could be feeling, disgust is the strongest. Harry has a little faith that since Snape hasn't harmed him in the past, there's no reason for him to start now, especially since Snape was talking about having already done these things, which Harry knows he didn't. Confused, yeah, I guess a little. But it's rather obvious what Snape is doing. I'd entirely forgotten about that comment that Sirius made, but yeah, he was very cruel to Kreature. Why wouldn't he be cruel to Snape? Silencing spells would have worked nicely...except then I wouldn't have a follow up chapter! Snape wasn't really thinking with his head this chapter, though. He was thinking with his emotions. And no, that conversation wasn't for kids. But Harry didn't have much of a choice but to hear what they were screaming at each other. Oh yes, the Death Eaters were much nicer to Snape than James and Sirius. That's why in a previous chapter, Snape thought "Joining the Death Eaters had been a relief." He definitely preferred being with Voldemort's crowd than the alternatives. Worst that could happen to him in Voldemort's care would be a stray Cruciatus but generally nothing as bad as his treatment at Sirius' hands. Yes, I did use the reporter! I really liked that idea, thanks!
What a dramatic chapter, well done! I love all the angst, and the bonding. I wonder if Severus shouldn't just schedule a nap time each day, have Harry come down and study while being tied up in bed. The pepper up potions can't continue indefinitely. Harry has such a good heart. He can tell the suffering that Severus is going through, and understand that he is not being cruel or hateful anymore. I did like all the reflections and character growth that Snape went through, it's about time! Too bad he had to get into another slavery bond to see it. Fantastic chapter, thank you so much for the update! Author's Response: Hmm, the notion of an interview is pretty good. I just may use that! Thanks! You're right, the potions can't continue. But it will take more drastic measures for Severus to see that. He's obviously not caring about his health that much. He'll need a better reason than "This will hurt me" to change his ways. As a potions master, potions are always the answer. And in the vien of your next paragraph, it takes a lot for Snape to change, sometimes a second slavery bond. Glad you enjoyed it!
Author's Response: The Slytherins will absolutely not touch Harry. They might do everything they can to make him miserable, but they will not physically hurt him. The bond protects the master's property and will kill anyone who dares to raise a hand against Harry without Snape's permission. That's not to say that the Slytherins won't make life hard on him, but he won't have to fear attack or death from them, because none of them want to die for something like that. If anything, Harry is safer now with the bond than he was before. When an accident in potions causes imaginable damage to 3 different boys, perceptions start to change. One in particular of a dark and stern man, as truths start to come to light. How does one heal and move on from something like this? Who is left the task of picking up the pieces?
