About me:

Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

    Wonderful! I loved it! I am so glad that Snape was able to suggest a name and that she picked it! Great way to reveal it at the end. So did he pick the name especially for her, or is it just a name he liked? It would of been a beautiful name if he had been able to have Eileen and Snape as well. I wonder if he'll ever be able to fully claim her.

    Aww, fantastic chapter! I loved it! Clever Flitwick! I wonder if anyone else is going to figure it out. I loved the emotions and descriptions in this chapter. I bet Severus would forbid his daughter to take Divination, given how he feels towards the teacher. I wonder if Lily and Severus took Divination.

    I'm loving this story. Thanks for the update! Please update when you can! I can't wait to see how Slytherin house will treat Miss Evans.

    Woah! That was incredible! I didn't even think that Dumbledore must of seen some nightmarish vision when he went to kill the ring, just like Harry and Ron saw when they killed the locket. What a dramatic scene! I wonder what it was that gave Dumbledore the strength to bring the sword down; was it Severus' pain, reminding him that he had to protect Harry?

    I am glad that Snape has remembered, or realized that Dumbledore is like a father to him, that they all need his guidance. It seemed like a near thing, the temptations Severus had to face in order to fight. Wow.

    And poor Harry, having found Dumbledore like that. I wonder if they managed to stop the curse in time, if Dumbledore will still die from the curse if he doesn't get Advadra Kedavra'd first.

    I am glad that Dumbledore didn't commit suicide though, they need him to be strong even if he has made mistakes and feels guilty. They still love and look up to him.

    Fantastic story, I enjoyed the chapter. Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share it with us!

    Ahhhh!!!! No! Well I guess better Dumbledore have a withered hand than commit suicide. :/ If the ring is still cursed, I mean. The shock of the curse might shock him and he still might plummet to his death. I bet the ring is causing a lot of Dumbledore's despair, just like the locket did with Harry in the seventh book. I think if Dumbledore had committed suicide that Snape would of felt guilty. I wonder if Dumbledore was the anonymous source to the Muggle newspaper. Fantastic chapter, I was so happy to see another update so soon! Thank you for it!

    Author's Response: You nailed it!! ;) I was hoping that this chapter wasn't too ambiguous. But yes, Dumbledore already felt guilty after seeing Sev and Harry so beaten and bloodied. And yes, the ring was indeed causing his level of despair to reach suicidal heights. I was never satisfied with the simple explanation that he, "Lost his head." He is such a great wizard that I was determined to flesh out the story a bit. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! :) Thank you for the review.

    Great drama! Way to get the depth of Harry's emotions and feelings. I didn't feel like the books had done it justice, but you did. :) Snape being there added so much more drama, it was almost painful to watch Harry go through it. it was good to hear all of what Snape did, things that were not really said outright in the books. I do love how much influence and power Dumbledore has over Snape though, you can tell that Snape respects and listens to him. I loved all the explanations; if only Harry had known before hand, the mess would of been avoided! So who else is Kreacher serving? Bellatrix? Narcissa and Lucius?

    Ohhh, poor Harry. I wonder if it was Snape who made the hose water turn on and wet Harry, prompting him to drink. What an awful time he is having at the Dursley's! What jerks they are being to him! I am so glad that Snape is getting a good, real look at what Harry's home life is like though. Harry is such a hard worker! And it is amazing that he can keep his cool, but I expect that physical punishments for acting out or talking back has trained him not too. I bet that is why Harry feels so free to talk back and act out at school, because the consequences aren't as bad.

    I loved that Minerva was watching Harry first. I wonder what she noticed, if anything. I suppose maybe she didn't notice much since she had the early morning watch. Great start to the story! I looks very promising! The chapter was short, but had a great pace setting things up and introducing us to the theme of the story. I couldn't wait to read more!
