Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

    Yikes! So I wonder what that snowglobe was doing there. Did Dumbledore know that it was there? Or is it something sent to torture Dumbledore and Harry got to it first?

    In any case, I'm glad that Harry isn't alone. Good first chapter. Fantastic place to end it too.

Minerva hadn’t suspected anything to be out of the ordinary with this year’s batch of students, but she was certainly surprised when there was. Severus Snape wasn’t expecting a scrawny boy to turn up at his office covered in filth and in desperate need of attention.

    Woah! What a start! I’m so glad the questionnaire got sent out to screen the kids. Poor Harry. I bet his family abandoned him. I love the start to this story. Harry seems like a really good kid.

    I wonder if he will ever be able to help his bridge family. If he learns he has gold in his vault I bet he would give it all away.

    Fantastic start. I love this version of Harry and can’t wait to see what his new life will be like.

    Awwwww, I'm so glad that they met that way. Snape can have no misconceptions of Harry's attitude and personality now. I really enjoyed reading this chapter. What a sweet scene of Snape detangling Harry's hair.

    I hope that Harry gets to write to his bridge family, even if he doesn't get to stay with them over vacation breaks. He has a good heart. I wonder what house he will be sorted into.

    I hope that they manage to get his hair presentable for the first day of school! What a cute kid otherwise.

    Awwww, what a cute story! I really like how Severus taught Harry math with potions.

    Sweet Harry got his house for his bridge family. I did not see coming the fact that two of them were werewolves. Woah!

    I'm enjoying this story so far. Poor Harry. I'm glad that he has a friend in Ron.

    Defense class is going to cause a major problem for Harry though. I wonder how they will figure out what's causing Harry's headaches.

    Good second chapter. I'm enjoying the build up. I love your Professors, they are so in character. So amussing.

    Woah! Awesome chapter and what a place to end it. I really hope that Harry runs down to the cellar or something to get away. Maybe they don't recognize him? Maybe they are just here for tea or something?

    I hope Harry doesn't do anything foolish, like open the door.

    I hope Snape comes back before things get messy!

Oh, boy, the Dursleys are trouble, but for what it's worth, I hope you enjoy the chapters that follow and the consequences that come with it. XD Harry is a bright child (seeing as he learnt the alphabet in a week) but in some areas, he really is a bit naive. Hopefully, it won't be like it this time. I hope so too. :) No problem!     Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoy it! I saw the challenge and immediately was like 'aha! I can do this one!' I've always liked the idea of the curse scar being more than just a superficial wound (or even just a horcrux) and carrying with it a little more weight.
