Changing relationships, changing appearances, new friendships. What if Snape was Harry's real father, but nobody knew it? What if Harry was more than he let people see? What if love really was the key to ending a war? Harry/Hermione. Ignores HBP and DH

Pandora, what a start to a story! I'm just shocked! In a good way mind you, so no worries. I really think I'm going to love this story too! "Snape was fed information only at intervals to keep him in line; to do Dumbledore's bidding."- for some reason this line hit me hard. It just gave me this sad, pitiful feeling, like I had watched Dumbledore lie to Snape over the years and was forced to keep quiet or something. Very powerful! Wonderful start! You've got me hooked on this one too, so I'm going on! :D Author's Response: Oh Thanks Ivy. Actually, the Horcrux was created by Voldemort's Deatheaters before Snape killed Dumbledore. Don't forget, at one time, Snape was a real Deatheater, before he became a spy, and he was not a nice person. No sugarcoating it here. But Snape did not create the Horcrux willingly; he only did so on Voldie's orders, so he was not pleased when Harry used it to bring him back. Fortunately, Snape only created one Horcrux, not like Vodie, who created seven. It's not so much the Horcrux that makes the person evil, but splitting your soul into multiple pieces can have a devastating effect on you and your soul. Thanks Ivy. I answered a challenge actually, so I can't take credit for the premise behind the story; which I thought was brilliant, and just had to write it. Dumbledore is not as bad as that line makes him sound; he had his reasons for not trusting Snape. After all, the man was a Deatheater, and for all Dumbledore knew, he was not to be trusted. He did start out truly believing Voldemorts doctrines on Pureblood racism, so Dumbledore was not going to trust him fully with not only a vulnerable child of the light, like Harry, but with the future of the Wizarding World.
Dumbledore knew that Snape loved Lily, and was remorseful for his part in her death, but he really didn't know to what extent the man was sorry for his part in Voldemort's destruction. Even if Snape did not enjoy killing, and only did so because he would have been killed himself, does not change the fact that he is not a saint. While Dumbledore made many mistakes in this story, I do not wiish him to be portray as really evil, just a little eccentric and slightly manipulative.
Thanks Ivy, and I'm looking forward to your next chappie too.
What's going to happen now? Is Harry going to go all dark or isn't he? Is Snape going to help him? I don't know!-so I'm going on! Nice chappie Pandora! Author's Response: Snape is pretty much a bastard in this story--or at least at the beginning. He won't be forever though, I promise you that. He won't ever be a cuddly Snape, but he'll eventually come around.
Ooh, you'll have to keep on reading to find out!! Thanks Ivy. I hopt that you'll continue to read. I appreciate your kind comments! :)
I feel so bad for both Harry and Snape in this one. They just don't know what to do. Harry's disappointed and feeling rejected while Severus is still guilty and bitter. Poor boys! My heart's bleeding for them both! "he had been living on the edge for so long, that the prospect of normalcy seemed foreign to him."- I think that this is very true for Snape. I often wondered how his life would have really been like had he lived. It would be such a switch, wouldn't it? And it'd be terrifying! To crave this statue all your adult life, to want it so badly you hurt, but then finally accept your fate only to be given what you wanted so quickly you can't even appreciate the gift, as it only makes you bitter in away...do know what I'm saying or am I just rambling? Fantastic chapter Pandora! But I'll have to read on tomorrow as it's late and I have early classes. Expect more from me later! :D Author's Response: Oh, I think that you put it beautifully Ivy. Snape had accepted death, and was actually awaiting it with welcome arms, so it was a bit of a disappointment to him that he wouldn't be reunited in death with Lily and now he 's faced with a life with a son that he doesn't know, and since he's never been very good at dealing with emotions, he lashes out at Harry as the source of his ambigious emotions.
Yes, Snape would never admit that he's scared would he?
Thanks Ivy, your reviews mean a lot to me. I can't wait for an update from you too! :) Any story of yours will do; I love them all!
"Yes Albus, there is nothing more I would rather be doing than having someone administer a foul tasting potion, rip my mind apart and expose my deepest thoughts and feelings for all the world to view. Because of course, you know what a demonstrative person I am," Severus said sarcastically.- And that's why we love you Sevvy!! ^_^ That was a great line and sounded A LOT like Snape. I think this was my favorite line in this section, but then it was all good! Ha! You go Minerva! You put your foot down! She made me happy in this. OH! And Harry being embarrassed that Hermione and Ron were *cough* "snuggling" was hilarious. Poor Harry... Great chappie Pandora! Now I've gotta go to the next! :D Author's Response: Yeah, I thought that I'd torture Snape a bit! But there is a reason for my madness, as you'll see. Yeah, Snape and his legendary temper! LOL! Thanks, I had so much fun writing a nasty Snape! I love Minerva. She's almost the only one that can really handle Snape! She puts him in his place.
Hee hee. I think that Harry wanted to do a little of his own snuggling too.
Thanks for reviewing Ivy.
"He had somehow lost sight of what was important; that Severus and Harry were not simply warriors, nor soldiers, but human beings, with feelings and desires."- YAY! I had to cheer at this line here because it made me so happy. I like it when Dumbledore's explained rationally, and then understands what he's done wrong, even if he didn't mean it really. That was a great line!! And even though I feel terrible for Harry, I still can't help but feel for our snarky professor. I mean, if you look at things from his prospective, it doesn't excuse everything he's done, but it does give an understanding. I do feel bad that he thought he escaped and then was pulled back into another mess. ...but then again, I like to figure people out and study them, so I could just be looking for what's not really shown yet or at all....or I could just be a hopless Snape fangirl...either way. ^_^ Great chapter Pandora! I look forward to more! :D Author's Response: Well, Harry loves Ginny and wants to have an open and honest relationship with her. He had to take the chance that she would understand, and it, thankfully paid off. Dumbledore does care for Harry and Severus in his own way, and never meant to hurt either one of them. As we've recently discussed in a Yahoo group that I belong to, Harry had a prophecy to live up to, and Severus wanted to atone for past sins, so their paths were pretty well mapped out for them, and whether they chose to or not, would have been targets for Voldemort, so Dumbledore thought that he was giving especially Harry the best chance of survival that he could . Of course both Snape and Harry are a little peeved at him right now, but once they understand the reasons behind his decisions, Harry's anger will turn to understanding, acceptance, and finally forgiveness of Dumbledore.
Yeah, poor Snape. He just wanted to be with Lily in the afterlife. He was tired, and felt like he'd sacrificed enough. He just wanted peace; he felt that he'd paid his dues already, and then poof...Harry brings him back from the veil, and uses very Dark Magic to do it.

On with the review! OH NO!! I always feel sorry for Harry when Snape looks smug...but thinking of Snape smug makes me want to cuddle the PM and I don't think he'd like that very much. He's definately AK me in the face. *sigh* But still... Harry just can't catch a break, can he? If it's not one thing, it's another. He's always finding out something terrible. But hazzah Minerva! I loved her speech and how stern she was. The students aren't going to get away with ANYTHING now that they've not only got McGonagall as Headmistress, but Snape as Deputy Headmaster. I have to giggle at that. Poor students.... I also loved her talk with Harry and her explination of Snape. Bravo! Give it time Harry, give it a little time...but I'm sure two minutes isn't enough time, because now he's got potions. Poor kid (even though he's like only a year younger than me or the same age as me in this). Bravo Pandora! I'll have to read on...after I get more tea. XD Author's Response: Yes, definitely if you try to cuddle Sev, he will hex you!!! :)
Now, "I" want tea too! No, poor Harry, life is never easy for the poor boy.
Those poor kids, McGonagall and Snape are the strictest teachers at Hogwarts and with eyes in back of their heads...watch it Harry!! :)
McG just wants Harry to have a family, and she really wants the same thing for Snape, even though he doesn't know that he wants it yet!
Thanks Ivy...I'm drinking coffee, but I'm definitely getting tea after.
"He was beginning to feel ganged up on by Snape and McGonagall."-OMG! What a tag team those two would be!! That would be so fun to see...from a safe distance, but still! That's actually an awesome idea to me for some reason. The idea of wrestling comes to mind for some odd reason... "Ironically... Severus had been the only one who who had seen that Harry should have been made to adhere to the rules, not constantly encouraged him to break them, as had done consistently."-I always thought that was a sad truth others should have seen. True, he did go over board at times (most times) but he did see the need to not make Harry feel that he was above the rules or better than everyone. Too bad Harry never had a good balance when it came to favortism, eh? Dumbles gave too much and Snape way not enough! Oh hell! Draco heard? Crap! What's he going to do now? Run and tell everyone? Or is he going to keep quiet and then go talk to Snape? Or is he going to get caught? Oh man! Wonderful chapter Pandora!! Author's Response: Oh definitely, Ivy. Harry is not himself, the poor boy. Severus will help, don't worry. Yeah, Snape and McGonagall make a formidable duo, don't they? Wrestling? Now that's an interesting image in my mind now. I'd wrestle Snape any day! Too true Ivy; Snape was way too harsh, and Dumbledore turned a blind eye to his transgressions too frequently, and encouraged dangerous behaviour. Harry never got a balance.
Yup, Draco Heard alright! Now, knowing Draco the way that you do, what do YOU think? Hee hee ! Thanks, Ivy.
“Not to be holding your breaths until you look like constipated hyenas,” he said maliciously.-AHAHAHAHAHAHA!! XD I love that line! It was so funny I burst out laughing. Classic Snape. ^_^ But WHOA! Harry! You stupid boy! Why would he miss TWO classes? And then cheek Snape of all people. How terrible! I'd be pretty ticked off too had I been Snape and some mouthy kid I already don't like is giving me crap. It has something to do with using Dark Magic, doesn't it? I'm 89% sure...I think.... But oh no! What's Draco done now? While I kinda feel bad about him, I don't feel so bad that I can forgive him for sending that owl...did he write to the Ministry? Did he write to the Prophet? I don't know!-but I will soon! Fantastic chappie, Pandora! I'm running right along to the next! :D Author's Response: Yeah, they should make it a new sport...Snape Wrestling!
Hee hee, Anpe does come up with some good ones, doesn't he?
Yeah, Harry does like to push the envelope, doesn't he? LOL!
Draco...Draco...Draco..What HAVE you done. I guess that you'll have to keep on reading to find out! :)
Thanks Ivy.! |
