Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry safe, but his relatives are expendable. Blood magic was supposed to keep Harry looking like his adoptive father, but it's wearing off. Blood is a bond, but so is the memory of hate -- or love.

I don't think anyone ever managed to capture Snape in the same way you masterfully did here, and I doubt anyone ever will. How I wish JKR could have read this and learned a thing or two! Thank you so very, very much for writing this great story! Author's Response: Thank you! I find Snape a very interesting character to write. I feel there's always a lot going on inside him, and a lot of it stays inside. For me, that's really the only way to make sense of his actions in canon. When Harry goes through some...changes...the summer before his Fifth year, his relatives don't react well. Suddenly Harry finds himself homeless and alone, and learning to cope with yet another whole new world he'd never known existed.

I love creature fics and am really eager to read more about this one. It seems you are about to explore some unknown parts of the Wizarding World and that is my favorite kind of story. Looking forward to more, thanks so much! Author's Response: Yey!! Thanks!! I was actually really worried about that, so it's wonderful to hear that you don't find it boring. And yes, I'm definitely going to be exploring a different aspect of "wizarding culture", and/or magical culture that's separate from wizarding culture. LOL we'll see. I have a definite idea of my plot, but I also have much more fun writing, and write better, if I keep the details a little vague until it comes time to write them. Glad you like the chapter, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. You're very welcome!! I love writing!! Snape tackles his toughest mission yet, babysitting Harry Potter. 100 word drabbles.

Laughed my head off, I can just see Severus' face! Thanks so much! Author's Response: No, thank you. Glad i could make you laugh your head off, that's always a good thing right? The Battle of Hogwarts has finally finished, but at a great cost. Harry no longer has anything to live for, and has come to two conclusions: either he commits suicide, or he changes the past, in order to be reunited with his loved ones. Deciding to choose the latter, he sets about his quest to vanquish evil for once and for all – by returning to that fateful night where it all began. True to his luck, he arrives too late. Follow Harry’s quest to change the past for the better.

Oh, btw, 172 for a guy who is nineteen - very, very, very short over here in Europe. 177 is short, never mind 172. I know the guy who plays HP in the movies is impossibly short but I never got the idea from JKR that HP was so short too. Not as tall yes, but not this drastic. Anyway, great start! Author's Response: hello! haha...I'm asian xD most of the guys at my school barely top 5'7", so I thought 172 was pretty decent. I also thought it'd be unrealistic for Harry to suddenly shoot up more than 5 inches (I think), because it seems really, really painful. I know when I had sudden growth spurts I had a fever along with it. Or maybe I'm just strange? thanks for the review! ~shige A guilt-stricken Harry finds solace with a mysterious black stallion, never dreaming it's the Animagus form of Severus Snape. But Harry has a dark secret, one that could mean his death unless Snape discovers it in time. AU, no slash! Angsty!Harry Mentor! Animagus! Snape, some Draco too! HP/HG

Oh, btw, Apep (Aapep) not Apophis (and not Apophos as up there) considering Apep was the Egyptian version of the name, while Apophis is the Greek version. Set on the other hand, started off as a different deity, the protector of Ra who fought Apep as Ra journeyed across the underworld. Only later did Set due to some political issues, first unification of Egypt, then later on more importantly the Persian invasion, get the extreme negative aspects though again, not in all of Egypt. Also Seléne is the Greek lunar deity, who was then supplanted by Luna the Roman version of the goddess, who was then pushed out by Diana. Hera actually doubled for her in the Endymion myth. Pedantic a bit, but I thought it would be fun to know as myths can be more complex than people think sometimes! By the way, your description of Seléne fits rather well with Hesiod's, I thought that was rather neat. Thanks a lot for the great chapter.
C. Reeve had an accident that had nothing to do with his not wearing a helmet because in fact he did wear one. The helmet prevents brain injuries and not spinal injuries, which is something we actually got to see in his case - his hands got tied together by the reins that were pulled off so he landed head first. He had no brain damage thanks to the helmet but his body weight caused the injury due to impact. Please ... it's really ... very poor taste to even see him mentioned here in this context, implying something like this, considering the poor man went ahead of his time despite taking precautions and after such a valiant fight that helped so many others. Not to mention his wife soon followed from cancer and well just ... Author's Response: I have nothing whatsoever against Mr. Reeve, in fact I liked the man immensely. I only mentioned him because he was the first person that came to mind that everyone associates with a terrible riding accident. I don't follow much TV and none of the magazines I read regarding that incident went into detail about it and so had no idea what really caused the accident and did not mean to imply that he was incompetent--it was a tragic accident which could have happened to anyone. Like I said, I mentioned it because Harry would have heard of it and it would have made an impact upon him. Severus mentions the fact that one could become paralyzed from a fall without a helmet because he wishes to impress upon Harry to always wear his. I personally know someone who DID almost die from not wearing a hat while jumping a horse, but since neither Severus or Harry are horse people, I didn't want to go into details with it. I also was not aware that his wife died either. May they rest in peace. After nearly freezing to death outside his relative's home, little Harry is rescued by first a spirit and then a snarky git! The adventure isn't over yet though, as Snape soon realizes that his charge's problems aren't limited to just frostbite.

Then having a child in a potions classroom is not something I'd see Severus, and this one too, doing as it's a very volatile environment, not to mention his son just jumping into a lesson like that is incredibly unprofessional. Anyway, still love the story but a little more realism is more to my liking. Author's Response: Oh ye of little faith . . . AU. Time Travel. Snape goes back in time, holding the knowledge of what is to come if he fails. No longer holding a grudge, he seeks to shape Harry into the greatest wizard of all time, starting on the day Hagrid took Harry to Diagon Alley.
