Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

    Wow! Just read all 24 chapters after finding this story last night. Really nice writing style and great story line. I love your Snape and Harry; both are in character. It's amazing how many stories ignore Snape's violent tendencies, so I'm glad to see you use that to show his weaknesses. So much to say that I hardly know where to begin. In short...I love it! Great job!

    I just found your story yesterday and have been glued to it! Your Snape is quite realistic; the interactions with Harry are suspenseful and angsty. Love it! In the last chapter you were concerned about people's responses to Snape roughly grabbing Harry's arm, but that is probably quite Canon since he did throw Harry across the room after the Pensieve incident. I believe that making Harry kill the mice would be a very effective punishment and a good way of making he think before he acts in the future. In Canon, he was distraught after using Sectumsempra on Draco and actually seeing what he had done. You've woven a nice complex plot and made an original character, Connor, very interesting. Good job! Looking forward to more.

    Yes I want Snape to seem capable of being harsh, cruel and acting wrongly at times (cos I think he is) but I don't want to make him irredeemable.

    I'm a little late showing up to this story, but I am really enjoying it! Your snarky Snape is very in character and scary (just the way I like it). ;) I like the way you are mixing canon and your own creative story. Now we have an idea why Lupin is acting strangely...can't wait to find out more. Hope you will have time to update soon, we need to know whether Harry is going to survive Snape's wrath! Great job with the writing and for an entertaining plot.

    Just found this story and read all 16 chapters over the course of the day. Really nice! I like the complexity of the story and the angst between Snape and Harry. My first thought during the lunch scene (based on Snape's reaction) is that Malcolm accused Snape of a sexual relationship with Harry. That would be uncomfortable for Snape, I'm sure. But then simply threatening to hurt Harry would have a horrifying effect on Snape as well. Guess we will find out exactly what was said in upcoming chapters. :) Glad Malfoy is getting some comfort from Snape. I'm really enjoying your story and looking forward to more!
