- This was absolutely beautiful. At parts heart-rending, and at others hope-inspiring. I feel you captured both Harry and Severus remarkably well. I couldn't stop reading after I started, and I confess I shed a few tears. Thank you for telling such a moving story. I only wish there was more to come to continue the happy ending in even more detail, but I also feel that ending it where you did was perfect. Again, thank you for telling a difficult and beautiful tale.
Author's Response: hi there! thanks so much for your lovely comment! I really love the set-up in this fic but i really wanted to end it where i did. i'm sure i will have longer fics up that do go in a lot of detail and have a lot more of the dynamic between Snape and Harry shown. :)

- This is a really fun story so far, and I am looking forward to seeing how it proceeds from here. As a fellow lefty, who also was forced growing up to write with my right hand, I really empathize with Harry here, and am quite invested in seeing how this unfolds!

After Dumbledore’s death, Hogwarts has to be evacuated to ensure a proper turnover of the wards. Accordingly, McGonagall announces that everyone must leave for the winter holidays. With Bellatrix still on the loose, Harry has little desire to endanger his friends by going home with them, so he resigns himself to a terrible holiday spent with the Dursleys.
Thankfully for him, Severus has been on the alert ever since he had uncovered bits and pieces of Harry’s childhood. When he discovers where Harry has gone, he immediately sets about putting the situation to rights.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're excited!! And I love how you phrased that– because Severus really does need to /earn/ Harry's forgiveness! And I forget that P&S doesn't have the same comprehensive tagging system that archive of our own does, so not to spoil it, but he's gonna end up adopting Harry!
Draco is always enthusiastic to spend the day with his uncle Sev, and he's extra excited when he gets to do so at Hogwarts this week. But only a few hours into the day and the headmaster visited the dungeons, bringing along an extra special "adventure" for the two. Harry Potter had runaway from his home at the Dursely's for the fifth time now, and Albus was starting to get flustered. None of the family service witches had seemed to do any help for little Harry, so Albus decided to send Severus this time. The only problem is that Harry's situation is much worse than Severus wanted to believe. What happens after Severus is witness to the boy's home life? How does Draco react to meeting the-boy-who-lived? Why is the headmaster so upset about it?

- This was a great story. Sad at parts, sweet at others, and overall satisfying! I think the length and level of details, along with time jumps, made for ideal pacing. Thank you for sharing your story!
Author's Response: Thank you thats what I'd hoped for! I was actually worried it was too long and detail heavey so I'm glad you thought it was a good fit :)
It wasn't Severus' fault that Harry was allergic to Veritaserum, or that Harry had been sneaking around the dungeons after curfew. How was he to know the boy would react badly? Those were the excuses he gave to the Headmaster when questioned about his (questionably legal) actions, but Dumbledore wasn't buying it. Now Severus is stuck with the annoyingly truthful brat for Christmas. Wonderful. In response to the Faux Pas challenge by Alexannah. Rating for language is because of one sentence with curse words in chapter two. Rating for self harm is harm on accident on Harry's part. Short story, only three chapters.
