What a neat story. Neat in every way - good characterizations, good grammar, interesting story line. I liked the way you set your scenes with the descriptions, especially the scrawny cat that reminds us of Snape. Snape is his usual snarky self though he does agree to help the school and students (again) and finally forgives the staff. I liked the way everyone had to work together to get the wards back. Nice way to show how important it is for the Houses to work together. Good job!
Author's Response: Thank you! I based the description of the cat on an elderly one of my own, and the steps down are based on the steps up to the Blarney Stone. The Harry Potter Wiki says that Headmistress Creaseworthy became a dame but does not give a reason, and I used her description as given in the Wiki (a great resource!).
Harry threw a snowball and it hit Snape in the back of the head, which started a chain of events no one thought possible. Entry for round 3 of the first ever Tri-Writing Tournament on P&S. Prompts used: snowball fights and Muggle board games. If you like this story, don’t forget to vote for it! If you don’t like it, vote for someone else's story, just be sure to vote! One-shot.

What a neat story! I like the idea that the three staff members kidnapped Harry for the summer. I bet Harry liked it, too.

Poor Harry. He really is in a jam. Though I think he could get away with ordering food without wearing his cloak if he has the money to pay for it.
Author's Response: True, he could, especially if he went to Diagon Alley to get muggle money (I don't think the goblins care about human age laws) and spent it in the muggle world. But his problem solving skills aren't evolved to that point yet (I always thought he and Ron were foolish to take the flying car, but suppose it's just child logic), and he is so used to not having enough food that he doesn't really use his brains to solve the problem. Snatching food while the Dursleys aren't looking is something he's used to.

Harry will be in for a shock when he wakes up. At least Snape will heal him and Harry will not be wandering around outside.

Snape is going to some effort to make things comfortable for Harry. More than he would for duty's sake. I wonder when he will admit to himself that Harry isn't like his father and Snape is beginning to like him.

I like the way you wrote the chapter through Harry's eyes. He is so sick that he isn't thinking too clearly so, naturally, the person caring for him must be Dream Snape. Severus is doing a good job of reining in his tongue.

I really enjoyed your story. The snow and cold seemed to mirror the hatred towards Harry. It made me feel cold while I read it in my cozy room. Any thoughts of continuing the story? I would like to see Snape return to show the principal the error of his ways.
Author's Response: thank you! I do tend to write a lot of fics set in wintertime, perhaps because I feel cold a lot and it can easily snow for six months where I live, so it tends to show up in my writing, lol. i'd LOVE to see Snape bring about a little justice, but then there's that tricky problem of wizards not being able to go after muggles, even if Snape wouldn't be doing it because they were muggles, but because they harmed a child. I think this fic ends where it does, but I hope to have longer fics up someday soon that really will go into a lot more detail about Snape and Harry's dynamic, as well as the hurt/comfort elements.
When Snape goes searching for the first year, Harry Potter; he doesn't expect what he finds.

Ahh. The Harry and Snape relationship that we all wish was canon. Well, at least we can dream.

liked the idea that Harry accidently turned himself into a cat. That would have driven the Dursleys crazy. Naturally since the only magical person Petunia knew was Snape, she dumped him off there. This would make an interesting longer story.

I can't imagine that Harry will escape. Snape will want to see him after the explosion. He must know that if Malfoy and Nott were hit, Harry was affected as well.
Author's Response: i mean, yeah! snape's definitely going to be holding him back!!
