Snape and Harry resume Occlumency lessons in book six, with significantly different results. Harry grieves for Sirius (rather than getting over his death impossibly quickly). Things... ensue...

My only critique would be to increase the pacing a little bit. The characterizations were wonderful though. I especially liked your Luna. If you every decide to continue writing this, you'll have a reader in me :). Hope you are well otherwise. Sequel to "Snape's Memories". A story based in the "Snape's Memories" timeline. It begins in the Christmas during the Deathly Hallows.

This is such a lovely series. I love your fatherly Harry and Tim was a wonderful character. It was also nice to see Dudley redeemed. Thank you for finishing it. Good luck with your original writing!
Harry is severely injured and Snape is in for a life changing event when he comes to retrieve Harry at the beginning of his first year at Hogwarts. This is a Snape adopts Harry story.

I do believe that Severus would care for Harry in a situation like this, but I don't necessarily think he would be so willing to take him in initially, nor do I think he'd know how to act around Harry (or any hurt child). I also find a Draco Harry friendship to be implausible, especially with Harry being disabled. To be fair though, a lot of people like Draco and I'm not one of those people. Anyways, not trying to be overly negative. I do enjoy the premise and the attention to the practical details of Harry's injury. Thanks for writing. Harry Potter is located in London in the dead of night. How exactly did he end up there, and what has he been doing? Well, any kid with half a brain knows not to talk to strangers.

I love that you took the time to slowly escalate the relationship between Snape and Harry. I also love that you didn't make Snape protest to taking Harry in. So many fics (while well-done) have a cliched fight between Dumbledore and Snape where Dumbledore finally convinces Snape to take him in. I like the grudging agreement here. One weakness was the Dumbledore story-line. It is so hard to realistically make Dumbledore ignorant of that level of abuse/Harry living on the streets for a year+ without Dumbledore-bashing (which I am not fond of) and in this case I felt that it was a touch to unrealistic he did not know about Harry being on the streets. On the whole though, this was a brilliant story. I particularly enjoyed your descriptions of magic and the correlations between magic and muggle science. I'll be looking forward to the one-shots!! One sentence. That's all it takes to change the course of history, as Snape soon learns after an Occlumency lesson. 5th year AU.

One criticism is the whole locket horcrux scene. I'm pretty sure dumbledore would have figured that out if it would have been that easy. Really great job though. Also though I get Harry's concerns about ppl thinking he's gay and that ron by association would have that same attention, I thought his concern almost bordered on homophobic (by from you from him). I would have liked to have seen snape kind of say well who really gives a crap when talking him through that. I really liked your hermione and the story as a whole. Author's Response: Glad you liked it! Well, usually when there's a very simple solution to a problem, and an author doesn't want to take that route, it's suggested and then shot down in a story. Pouring out the poison wasn't ever addressed in that way, and it just was curious, I thought. Harry was panicking at the time, and naturally, after everything he's been through, sexuality would be a sore point for him. I don't think Harry cares if someone else is gay. It's not how he roles, and he doesn't want to sereotyped. I'll pick up on that theme in the sequel, and Snape will have more to say on the matter, ultimately. It's mostly meant as a criticism of society, with the attitude that if you're not straight, you must be gay, and if you're straight you must have a boyfriend/girlfriend. As a not straight but not lesian girl, I run into that a lot. Harry is blinded in an accident at a young age and then disappears from the watchful eye of the Order. How does Snape react to a missing Harry Potter? What happens when he reappears in the wizarding world? What dangers will he face?
Notes: No horcruxes and Voldemort is truly dead, but there are others with evil intent towards Harry and Snape. I want to tell you to write more, but I know that it can be hard to just write a one-shot and leave it even when you as an author feel that it is best for the story. However if you have the time and the inclination, I'd be very interested in this background. This is a series of one-shots in the universe of 'To Trust', featuring Harry's first year and onward.
