I wonder how long the tiny snake has been watching out for Harry - and it makes me both glad that Harry has someone watching out for him, and sad that it's a little snake and not a person!!
I love your Harry 'voice' - you have a great knack of writing how little boys think/speak, and it makes the story so much more real!! Kudios!!

- Poor Little Superhero Harry!!
Having to eat out of bins and try to sleep in a washroom at Tescos!! I'm glad he got a bit of peace and quiet in that garden for the afternoon, as he's surely going to need it!! London can be a dangerous place, and I'm extremely worried for him!!
It's amazing how he can make the abuse he's suffered at the Dursleys into a good thing by rationalizing it as him being a Superhero - and to the Wizarding world he is a hero!!
Did none of the stupid wizard folk who saw him wandering about London by himself not stop to wonder why he was by himself?! Honestly!!
Looking forward to seeing Severus - I'm still hoping that he'll sweep in to rescue Wee!Harry and not be an @ss to him!! (fingers crossed!!)

Author's Response: Thank you! I know, it really was awfully angsty for a Christmas fic, wasn't it? But I did think the first Christmas after DH would be hard in a lot of ways, for Harry and all his friends. As for the world tour fic, maybe someday... Thank you for reading and reviewing!
All Harry wants is a place where he fits in. Eleven years old and fresh of the train from Kings Cross, Harry is not going to listen to 'House politics' how ever hard Draco and Ron try to persuade him.... As far as he's concerned he's just Harry Potter, the Boy Who Wants A Chance.

- Terrific start!! You've really captured Draco's voice here, and I'm looking forward to the perspective of other characters!!
One question though, will you repeat perspectives? For instance, will you use Draco to narrate chapter 10 as well, or is it strictly one chapter per character? OK, two questions - LOL!! Will Harry get to narrate a chapter himself or is this story strictly from the perspectives of the other characters in the story?
The glimpse of fear on Severus' face has intrigued me, and I can't wait to find out what he's concerned about!! Your Harry is adorable, and your Ron is surprisingly unannoying!! *grins* Let's see if Ron can keep his promise to stay Harry's friend in spite of his house!!

Draco will narrate at least another chapter, I won't say which, but if you think back to HP and the Philosopher's Stone, there's a chapter which is going to be lots of fun to write from Draco's POV. :-P
Secondly, Harry has a turn soon. The next chapter is by Ron, and then Snape, but Harry will feature very soon.

- OMG!! Poor Harry!! No child should have to make this choice - D*mn Dumbledore!! If you're really asking, then I say Harry and Severus should stay in the US, and let Harry have a normal life for once - if, and it's a big if, Harry should decide to return to the UK As An Adult and take up the fight against Voldie then, that's a different thing!! Plus, who's to say that Voldie will even be able to come back without the magic of Harry's blood in that ghastly graveyard ritual - Harry staying with his Dad in the US could be just the thing to put off Voldie's return indefinitely!! And both Harry and Severus deserve a chance at a normal life and happiness as a family!!
Umm... Hi!! I haven't exactly reviewed before this, er... sorry about that, but I do want to tell you how much I absolutely love this story!! I'm also completely amazed at the speed in which you post, and how consistently fantastic the quality of your chapters are!! I love the concept behind this story, that Severus and Harry are a family, and that Harry could have a chance to be a normal teenager and not a junior gladiator!! You really are an awesome writer, and I'm looking forward to more!!

Thanks a lot ! You're absolutely right, Harry's choice IS one no child should ever have to make, one reason why it's so terribly difficult for him, and another reason why Severus is so angry at Dumbledore. He doesn't want his son in the front lines of battle at all. Name me one parent who does! But if he does have to fight Voldy, at least Severus will be there to help, which will be a BIG surprise to Voldemort this time around. And Dumbledore as well, IF Harry returns. I'm glad you like my writing style too, and I tend to post so quickly because I write so quickly, can't help myself really!
I have another novel up here as well, it's slightly different from this one, Some Good Guys Wear Black was actually written first and features an adult Harry, Ginny, and Severus, as well as Sev's adopted son.
