After Dumbledore’s death, Hogwarts has to be evacuated to ensure a proper turnover of the wards. Accordingly, McGonagall announces that everyone must leave for the winter holidays. With Bellatrix still on the loose, Harry has little desire to endanger his friends by going home with them, so he resigns himself to a terrible holiday spent with the Dursleys.

Thankfully for him, Severus has been on the alert ever since he had uncovered bits and pieces of Harry’s childhood. When he discovers where Harry has gone, he immediately sets about putting the situation to rights.

    I want to smack Harry about, for being such a prat. Choosing to go home with the Dursley's for ANY reason is just bonkers. I can understand his reasoning though, but I don't agree with it in the slightest.

    Severus had better make this right!
    (Though... it would be nice to see a bit of revenge for Harry in one of these upcoming chapters. You know, Vernon could use a little ruffing up...)

Draco is always enthusiastic to spend the day with his uncle Sev, and he's extra excited when he gets to do so at Hogwarts this week. But only a few hours into the day and the headmaster visited the dungeons, bringing along an extra special "adventure" for the two. Harry Potter had runaway from his home at the Dursely's for the fifth time now, and Albus was starting to get flustered. None of the family service witches had seemed to do any help for little Harry, so Albus decided to send Severus this time. The only problem is that Harry's situation is much worse than Severus wanted to believe. What happens after Severus is witness to the boy's home life? How does Draco react to meeting the-boy-who-lived? Why is the headmaster so upset about it?

    You needn't be nervous about posting this. My only complaint is there isn't more of it already for me to inhale.

    I like to binge my stories, you see...
    But I'm content with reading this as each chapter comes out, just please don't let it die - this has the potential to be an AMAZING story, from what this first chapter has shown!

    I also like to binge my stories, and that's usually the reason I usually sort by completed stories. And probably entirely the reason that I have insomni jk. 

    Thank you, that means a lot :D It's very nice to see how well people received the first chapter and reacted to the premise of the story. It does mean a lot and it helps me actually have the drive to write a story that I've never felt confident enough to properly put on paper.

    I both adore how it ended, and hate how it ended, because I wanted to see more - like Snape's point of view on it all, or what happened afterwards.

    Aw, why is there no more? I'm absolutely in love with this story! I ADORE that Severus, Remus, and Sirius are putting aside their differences (at least a smidge) to work together to save Harry.

    I've never been quite as upset with Dumbledore as I am now, and I can't see that changing throughout the duration of the story. He's such a manipulative old coot.

    I'm sorry for this being my only review so far, I just found the story today you see, and I may have binged it while I should be working... :)

    Anyways, I'll now be checking back every day to see if there's a chapter of this story.

    Thank you SO MUCH for writing it such an awesome tale so far!

    Author's Response: I'm so happy you love it!!! Theres certainly more to come, so no worries there! I also am obsessed with those three working as a team, despite their animosity! Especially when it revolves around Harry, I feel like they'd only be able to agree when Harry's happiness is at the center! And yes! Dumbledore is so manipulative, honestly he might be the worst offender in canon, I mean, Voldemort was a significant manipulator as well, but I feel like theres such a difference between D manipulating people while pretending to care about them, and V manipulating people who chose to follow all while being fairly open that he's their god. No worries either! I didn't know about this cite, and I'm very new to it! So it's exciting to see a review at all! d84;a039;I fully approve of binging fanfic while at work tho, how else are we supposed to get through the day?! But oml, binging this whole thing at once!     I know I just wrote another chapter, but I just realized you just posted this yesterday. I'm so happy I didn't like.. MISS this story somehow and just never read it. But I'm REALLY hoping more people review, because honestly, this story is so well written.

    Severus and Sirius are almost painfully in character, but I honest to goodness love all the tender moments - even if subtle - between Severus and Harry. It's so touching, I almost tear up when I'm in the heat of the moment and Severus is there to calm Harry down and bring him from his flashbacks and disappearing within his mind.

    Seriously though, thank you again for this story

I love their fighting and their backstory, I can't imagine a world where the two will ever be truly friends, but whenever they're in a room together, it's endlessly interesting.
