This story is adopted and given permission from Severus Addicted. Albus has kept a secret about two people for eleven years. The time has come for when the truth should be announced. Can Severus be a father? Severitus. Warnings: small mention of abuse/foul language/corporal punishment. No slash. Be kind, leave a review. No flamers please.

Every time Hedwig has a part in a story beyond being a mail carrier, I'm reminded that Staint Hedwig is the guardian of orphans. I know that Harry found her name in a history book, but I've always found that to be more relevant.

    Author's Response:

I remember reading in another story that Hedwig was a Saint, but I couldn't remember for what. Anyway, that is why I used it. It seemed fitting to have her comfort Draco. Before my dog, Tightrope passed away; he did the same thing. If you were sad, he would come over to you and lick your face or lay next to you so you would know that you are not alone.

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my story. :)

When the saved hates the savior, magic demands justice and forms a slavery bond. Severus has saved Harry's life one too many times and the bond has formed, beyond anyone's power to dissolve.

Title: Chapter 9: A Midsummer Night's Dream 04 Sep 2016

It's strange for Harry, getting genuine affection from one of those that he has always gotten hate from in the past (at least before this past summer). But it's a strangeness that he could grow used to if he allows himself to. It's just a little sad to see Harry's world tilt so dramatically when it came to Sirius. It's like if he were to find out that Arthur went out and made muggle bombs in his shed instead of just (mostly) harmless tinkering.

    Author's Response:

Wow, that's a fascinating idea for another story...you might say that it's...the bomb.

But anyway, yeah, Harry will be growing accostomed to affection from Severus, and Severus will grow accostomed to giving it too.  The little romp before bed came from a desire to lighten the mood after all that happened and because Harry hugged him, he was actually in a very affectionate mood.  The oxytocin flowed freely.

Harry's not going to sleep that night, is he? Whether to try to 'save himself' from things that will never come, or nightmares spawned from vitriol. Verbal warfare can blow up in faces just as well as a dropped grenade. And just as devastating. That separate room looks like a good idea right now, even if Harry can't technically leave the chambers at night.

Author's Response: Neither one is going to sleep that much.  Severus is going to have nightmares from memories he'd buried that have been rudely brought to the forefront of his mind.  I don't think Harry's going to be too scared of Snape over this though.  The disparity between his words and actions are too great for Harry to fear much.  The only thing that Harry might fear is that if Snape truly lost it, he could resort to what he knows, what he's experienced.  But as long as he's in control, Harry would know he doesn't have to fear that.

This slave bond is just more and more difficulties, piled up one upon another without remorse. It's like taking the word of the law without the human reasoning behind it. Neither Severus nor Harry want Harry to be a glorified punching bag, but the bond is practically forcing it in the first place. Because with the bond, -Harry can do no right-. It's always his fault, no matter if it really is or not. It's like the Dursleys, but magically enforced. So reacting like he should for them should make the punishments more bearable, right? So, yeah, I guess there is a certain amount of retraining needed for their situation to work, on both sides of the leash. Hmm... I would think for a better long-term solution that still works within the limits of the rules, one of those 30ft leashes could afford Harry a little more leeway. Especially if he would to get his own room with a toilet attached. I would also think, with Harry now being Snape's property, that some clothes befitting his status under Severus would be in order, instead of the clothes signifying his status under the Dursleys. Y'know, something that actually -fits- and isn't an amorphous blob of ratty hand-me-downs. Like Hogwarts' elves' clean tea towels vs. Dobby's stained pillowcase. Or like the field slave vs. the house slave. Just because one is a slave, doesn't mean that the owner can't take care of them. Being a Pet is better than a slave, in my opinion.

Author's Response: Fair enough, I kind of glazed over the clothes.  I get sick of reading about the clothes in every fic I read.  Presumably, he has some good clothes now.  Thing with the leash is it has to keep Severus out of its radius, but Severus wants to be close enough to wake him from nightmares when he has them, and reluctantly, Harry wants him to wake him as well.  Thanks for the nice, long review!  :)

When an accident in potions causes imaginable damage to 3 different boys, perceptions start to change. One in particular of a dark and stern man, as truths start to come to light. How does one heal and move on from something like this? Who is left the task of picking up the pieces?

While the visions will make it easier for Neville to integrate back into his adult(ish) body... all the progress made in this black/white world with grey information will make things stall, if not worsen, in the meanwhile. Poor Neville, while he's not the example of 'worst' or 'best', he's just constantly stuck in that 'second' position. That middling ground that is so easy to become invisible in, even when you don't want to be. And every time that progress is made, something happens to shove him back into that position. In a way, it's a good thing that he's a bit passive... but there's being passive and then there's letting yourself getting trod over. Not even with Remus, he gets a true one-on-one connection, he has to share everyone.

Author's Response: I promise you, Neville will get his happy ending. I swear it, he won't always be second best. He deserves to be loved as well.

One perfect Christmas, was that too much to ask? Then again, we were all expecting the green eyed monster to rear its ugly head sooner or later in Draco. Still, after this, it might be a good idea to give the boys separate rooms. As well as Harry was doing, he's very fragile when it comes to getting others' positive opinion. And with Draco outright saying something like that? Yeah. Words hurt, especially if a weapon that's been used frequently before.

Author's Response: With these guys? Yeah it was too much lol. Everyone was especting Draco to react this way, it's sad actually. That no one gave him the benefit of the doubt. Ideally, one would think to give them seperate rooms, but Harry himself may not go for it. I'm listening, trust me lol, but you'll see in the next upcoming chapters i promise. Draco just needs to understand that Godson is different then Son, he needs perpective and he'll get it and he'll understand or he'll lose his friends.

Around a young witch or wizard's eleventh birthday they acquire wings, a sign that they have developed their full magic. Many worship their new wings, but to Harry, it's just another sign that he is a freak. Severus Snape is assigned his guardian over the summer before Harry's first year. It is up to him to teach young Harry the ways of the wizarding world and to come to terms with his newfound fame. But there is darkness lurking around every corner, and if Harry is not careful, it will be the last thing he ever knows. Eventual Severitus.

And now that the book is flashing Danger... it's not going to change to anything else in the near future, is it? That's Harry's school life in a nutshell right there. Then again, as far as we can tell from the book, the danger could be that Malfoy put itching powder in Harry's sheets.

This story is from the Summer Fic Fest. A prompt by Scorpia that I saw on Potions and Snitches website. Harry is kidnapped and Draco is the only one who saw it happen and who knows who did it.

Draco is a child that got everything that he wanted, Draco as a man now has to learn that the same actions as a child have for more consequences as an adult. Severus should go see Draco, yes, but this is only a fair punishment that he learns that ruining others' lives is not the proper way to get others attention or approval. You don't break a toy and get a new one as a reward... Though I do think that Dudley would disagree with me there. I think that all Draco deserves at the moment is Severus only to visit him the once to give him a list of solicitors. After all, that's a good equivalent to what Draco did directly to Harry. Means to contact said solicitors, well, Draco's on his own there.

I love Arthur. No matter his personal feelings, he always lets his children make up their own minds (whether they're biological or 'adopted'). He'll always be there for Harry, but if Harry wants to stay with Severus, who is he to stop that from happening? Now it's Severus that needs to step up and become 'dad'. I'm just so glad that innocents were not punished here.

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much. :D I'm glad that you liked Arthur. I really did have a lot of fun writing Arthur.

    Thank you again.

And therein lies the fallacy of the law: because of absolutes, the innocent end up being punished just as much, if not more, than the guilty. Because the innocent will confess to crimes that they believe they committed, while the guilty believe that they can get away with whatever they want. All the courts will see is 'Severus Snape kills', especially when they start digging into his background. The dead man, because he is dead, is absolved of all sin. Disgusting. But that's how these things go.

I just wish that, for once, something good happens to Harry. He needs it. Something along the line of kicking a man when he's down or beating a dead horse, either way. Maybe Hedwig managed to escape?

The last thing Harry needs right now is to go to the Weasleys. But, when the inevitable comes, I hope that they give Harry Bill or Charlie's room to use instead of making him share with Ron. It's amazing the power of having your own door is.

    Author's Response:

I absolutely agree with your statement. A woman can be beaten almost everyday by her husband and she can go to the cops tell them what is the problem, there is nothing they can do. She can try and leave. If she has children, she could be accused of kidnapping her children. And if she finally stands up and fights back and the husband dies, she is charged with murder, and is put in jail for her life. It's sad really that the laws are like that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review my story. :D
