Title: Chapter 1: Remember My Last

All those 'would have, could have, should have' moments. The quote is 'die a hero or live long enough to find yourself the villain', but it's rather backwards for him, isn't it? Die the villain, only to live on in memories the hero. Things like that always come about right when they're needed the most. Still, I wonder how it managed to be five years before the time-capsule that was Severus Snape's personal quarters was cracked open. Did the new potions professor have a preference for different quarters before moving on? Either way, it was time.

Oh, he'll figure out sooner or later that the servants are there to make his life easier (or at least smoother), not more complicated than it already is. Though, Potions class is going to be... tense.

I think the saddest part about the death is that there is a room with his name on it... and a never slept-in bed. How Malfoy got into the house past a fidelus charm, I don't really understand. I can understand Narcissa being able to get through, being a Black herself... but her husband...? As the summer goes on, and Harry reaps the rewards of 'living' in such a 'loving home'... I can easily see Snape's lessons 'running late' so that it would just be rude to not stay for dinner as well. That would get at least one meal into the boy a week. I want to see Harry cook for Snape. I have no doubt he's better over a stove than a cauldron.

...Is Luna the seer?
I'm glad to see that Harry and Severus are getting along so far. I can imagine them having fun in the kitchen together. Harry may not have gotten his parents' potions skills, but I bet he's better with pots than cauldrons.
I know it's not really important at this point in time, and no more than a passing thought for Harry, but I really do wonder what Harry looks like stripped of all his illusions and glamours. Heck, does he actually need those glasses? Then again, since Severus was likely the one to place said glamours in the first place, he's probably forgotten about them because he can see through them.
Keep up the good work, dark
One unlucky hit with a strange spell. That's all it took to alter the course of Harry's life - and everyone else's life around him. Bound to stay within ten feet of each other, Harry Potter and Severus Snape have to learn to get along or die trying. But sometimes in the hardest of times, one can learn things never imagined possible. After all, the past doesn't define the future.

I finally catch up just for a hiatus. Bar standard for me, honestly. Harry staging a coup like that, even to the point of leaving his friends out of the complete plans was utterly Slythrin... or Dumbledorian, I can't decide. Either way, I'm surprised. Now, how the hell will this work, because this will likely be more than a few hours before he's relieved of his new headmasterly duties. Or did he think it out this far? This is one heck of a way to test his boundaries with Snape too. What -will- he do to punish his new son... because normal methods would either backfire or be ineffectual.
COMPLETE. Harry and Hermione go to a prestigious summer school, where Snape is a teacher. Unfortunately for Harry, Snape has spoken to the other staff and is on his way to turning the whole school against Harry.

So much drama here, I have to take bits and bobs of it at a time (especially at the beginning of the summer). So much work to go after one child, I have to wonder how Voldemort decided to go after the foreign schools. Unless there really was a spy, it would have been difficult to pin down Harry's location. Then again, failed occlumency has possibly struck again.
I almost want to see Harry waking up in the Beaubatons infirmary with Snape hovering over him. I wonder if he suspects like the way that Narcissa somehow knew.

A good place to end. Still, I wish that there could be more (I always wish for more), but the boys are together again and that's all that matters ultimately. Love may cloud judgement, but it also carries its own type of clarity as well.

All that is really running through my mind at times is 'where you'll be safe and protected' and Privet Drive. Hogwarts is just another Privet Drive and Snape's 'Greater Good' is running quite parallel to Dumbledore's of nearly two decades ago.
Author's Response: True. It will all be fixed eventually.

And Fumbledore is about to make things even worse. The calm before the storm, the carrot before the stick, whatever you want to use, things are not looking up.

I love that there was no reaction to Minerva saying that they needed a new Defense professor. Like they were talking on whether to have treckle or mince pies for pudding.
