About me:

Hi, everyone.  I'm a long-time HP fan, but new to reading and writing HP fanfics.  Of course Harry and Severus are favorites, but I really like almost all the characters.

I'm a preschool teacher, and happily married with two children who also love HP.  Other things to know about me?  Hmm, I love horseback riding, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.  I love coming to talk with other fans on the internet, and I love reading fanfics.

I love how you can get into Severus' mind so perfectly. His thoughts and emotions are completely in character, though I never quite pictured him as a Hufflepuff, loyalty notwithstanding, lol.

I loved how you pointed out Dumbledore's Slytherin qualities, too. Actually, though he's certainly brave, Dumbledore does almost strike me as more Slytherin than Gryffindor. He's definitely manipulative and knows how to get his way. And he's more brilliant than any Ravenclaw, and loyal and hardworking too. He really embodies all the Houses, doesn't he?

I'm glad you went into detail about Lucius' motives and Severus teaching Harry Occlumency during the summer is certainly going to be interesting.

Another wonderful chapter, Missyanne! I love your wry humour and the detailed descriptions.

Grimmauld Place truly lives up to its name as a grim old place, doesn't it?

I like the background you have created for Severus and Dumbledore, that Severus took the Dark Mark at DD's urging.

And of course Sirius was going to react badly, poor guy. He and Severus have a loooong way to go, if their relationship is going to improve any.

Poor Harry and poor Sev...I have a feeling that it's going to be difficult for them before it gets better.

Petunia really dropped a bombshell on Harry, didn't she? It's nice to see him able to relax and have fun at Grimmauld Place with his friends, too. Harry deserves that. I like how you wrote that Harry was initially interested in Potions, until Severus treated him so poorly. That would fit in well with the movie version in PS/SS.

Poor Harry. I'm sure it will work out for the best, but right now he's not going to be pleased at spending his summer with Severus.

Another great chapter! Boy, that sounds like a truly horrible potion that Voldemort is after, and I'm so impressed with Severus' courage and willingness to spy despite the dangers.

I'm a little sad at the rift between Harry and Sirius, but I also think it's very understandable and believable. It's also right for Harry to be disturbed at the Marauders' past actions and Sirius needs to see that he (they) have been unfair to Severus for a long time. Though Remus seems to be much more open-minded, now at least.

Great ending too. I can just picture Harry swooping away and the dumbfounded yet outraged expression on Sirius' face.

But I do understand and agree with Sirius resentment of Dumbledore and his reluctance to trust in him again. There really was no excuse for the fact that Sirius didn't have a trial. With Veritaserum at their disposal, there is no excuse for anyone being wrongfully imprisoned in the wizarding world.

    Looking forward to more!

Title: Chapter 7: As Fate Would Have It 09 Jul 2011

I like Harry's thoughts at the beginning. I think he shows such maturity and insight in recognizing how Severus felt so betrayed, in making connections to himself and how he would feel if one of his trusted friends betrayed him. Harry is such a great kid.

Very good portrayal of Severus, too, and I like how he's already noticed that Harry is too thin and not well-cared for. If they're both determined to try to succeed at Occlumency and at least give one another a chance, they're making great progress already.

And now the mystery vial! I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

I'm so glad you're enjoying my story.  You right...Harry and Severus are already beginning to see that they might of had some misconceptions about each other. With any luck...it will help smooth things a little along the way.  ;>)

    Thanks for the lovely reviews.

Severus was trying to brew a potion that could help him preserve the life of his loved ones, however when testing it on himself intending for it to just take off two years of his life it took off about...hmm...thirty.

Very cute and sweet story! I'm really enjoying it. Sev's boggart is so sad, but I'm glad that Sirius is beginning to open his eyes.

The fight is over. Now what?

    Thank you!

Hadn't planned on writing more in this universe but you never know! ;)

Response to the 'Foster' challenge by Kitsune-chan. Harry is adopted by the Grangers as a six year old and raised alongside Hermione as a muggle. How will he react when he learns that he, like his sister, is a wizard and how will others react when they learn Harry Granger is nothing like the Harry Potter they were expecting?

What a great beginning! I'm really enjoying Harry being adopted by the Grangers and having Hermione as a sister. It's interesting to see him come to Hogwarts, not as a lonely orphan, but as a child who's accustomed to being part of a loving family.

    Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Thank you!! I am enjoying Harry and Hermione together, and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow up slightly differently throughout the years. I'm striving to keep him relatively in character, or as in character as he can be without being neglected and ridiculed for being what he is. I hope you continue to read and enjoy it!

Sequel to Walk the Shadows. After a horrific summer, Harry seems to be recovering from his ordeal, with the help of Snape and Lupin, as well as his friends, including, oddly enough, Draco Malfoy. But appearances can be deceiving.

Oh, I'm so glad you're writing again! Great chapter! I'm worried about Harry's depression, which is so clear from his journal entries. I know Severus is not happy about Ron and Hermione's visit but Dumbledore is right in this case. Harry needs some time with his friends; he's already feeling a little more cheerful. I know Severus truly cares for Harry and wants what is best for him so hopefully he'll notice this and it will help him to accept Ron and Hermione's presence.

    Looking forward to more!

Albus Dumbledore left Harry Potter on his Aunt's doorstep one Halloween night, in the sorrowful knowledge that he was condemning the boy to nine dark and difficult years. However, Fate intervened, sending Harry into the arms of a loving family whose very identity is intertwined with magic.

The only problem is, it's the wrong sort of magic and Harry, proud of his adoptive family and loyal as any Gryffindor, is determined not to compromise. Severus Snape would have found this hilarious... except the boy somehow ended up in his House!

Great beginning and it sounds like a very interesting premise! I like the backstory for Severus' family and his emotion at finding Harry alive. I hope you can recover your previous stories!
