Deciding he has nothing more to live for, he tries to end his life, but things don't quite work out the way he planned. Harry gets pulled in by Dumbledore to assist with Snape's...little dilemma.

- How long until we find out what the hell is wrong with Harry???? It's driving me bonkers. I stayed up until 2:30 last night reading this hoping I'd find out the answer, only to realize that you hadn't posted the answer yet... So I got three hours of sleep last night for nothing and I blame you and your stupid cliffies!!!

Harry Potter starts Hogwarts with high hopes of finding himself a real family, and holds tightly to this hope despite the torture his new Potion's Master seems intent on putting him through. Can Harry's hope hold out long enough to see his dream through?

- Oh, that was a cool twist. I wonder who the attacker is... Quirrel? That would make some sense, although it seems like he would kill him rather than beat him up. Malfoy wouldn't have enough skills- and where would he get a cloak?
Anyway, I hope that Snape does something useful for Harry. He hasn't done much up until now to reinvent Harry's idea of normal.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Snape knows it's a slow process and 'new normal' won't happen over night, especially with Harry's trust issues.

- Harry should still get in trouble for dueling Draco, and Snape should decide that he wants Harry...
Author's Response: Harry did get into trouble for dueling Draco. He got detention in the Forbidden Forest. It wouldn't be right for Snape to punish Harry twice for one thing... parents just don't do that.
