| I don't write a lot of Severus and Harry gen stories, because unfortunately I don't feel I do their relationship justice. If you are interested in reading some of my non-Harry and Snape gen stories, I suggest you check out my stories on fictionalley.org, fanfiction.net, mugglenet.com, or harrpotterfanfiction.com. I'm known as Potterworm on all websites. [Report This]

Instead of the Weasleys coming to get Harry in the flying car, Snape shows up at Privet Drive to rescue him, because he did not not show up for the start of his second year at Hogwarts. Will eventually be a Snape-adopts-Harry fic.

I quite enjoyed this chapter. I can't wait for the next update.
Author's Response: Thanks!
One-shot. Beginning of 6th year fic. Harry is stressed out, feels responsible for the death of Sirius and feels that life is pointless. He attempts suicide and is saved by the last person you would expect.

I feel like this is more of a chapter of a story than a one-shot. You've managed a good writing technique, and you have a good plot. However, I can't help but feel disappointed at the lack of substance to the story. While I understand that one-shots are short, I feel this story opened to many plot lines without closing them also. For example, Snape mentions that he is already beginning to care for Harry, and yet we are neither given or shown why or how. Also, the ending seems to be more of an ending to an exposition prologue than to a story. I'm interested in knowing the rest of the story. It's a decent story, but I wish there was more. (Sorry if I sound harsh.)
Author's Response: It's fine, constructive criticism doesn't bother me much. It's the flames that get to me, haha. Well, I will certainly take your suggestions into consideration and I will attempt to edit the story to improve it as much as I can... although I wouldn't expect to see an edited version up all that soon, as I have a lot more writing to do for my other fic which is chaptered. I would say that I've received pretty good reviews as this is my first one-shot, but I do admit that it is far from perfect. If you are interested, I would check back for an edited and improved version in roughly two weeks. Thanks a lot for the review! :)

Please update soon. I'm excited to see what happens.
The man leans over the table and presses the cup of tea into Harry’s hand. “Here, have some more. Perhaps it’ll make you feel better.”
Harry doubts it but accepts the cup nonetheless and takes a few mouthfuls. Moments after he’s swallowed the bitter brew he begins to feel cold and his vision blurs.
//
Sometimes safety takes on a strange meaning, but Harry always knew cupboards were safe. He just never knew that he would one day associate Snape along with cupboards and the safety and sense of security they always brought him.

I was looking through your reviews for this story, and I was surprised to find I had never reviewed this myself. This piece is absolutely stunning, almost poetic in a way. I just love that you never gave "The Man's" name. Harry's complete terror was so very real, that I could feel it from my head to my toe's. I was practically shivering. The progression of Snape and Harry's relationship was highly realistic. I think you should post this on ff.net too, since you have an account there, and then you should write companion pieces to this. I'd be quite interested in reading this story from Minvera's perspective or Dumbledore's, for example. I'd love to know Minvera's reaction when she found "Man" in the hallway, after Harry ran away.
At the beginning of second year, Severus agrees to become Harry's guardian, little suspecting the far-reaching effects of this decision. (Note: The story was also published - in pieces - on Fan Fiction Net, under the titles "Finding a Family", "Losing a Book", "Adding One More", "Sharing a Family", "Saving a Friend", and "Finding a Home".)

Wow, I didn't realize you were planning to continue this. I'm so glad I caught sight of chapter 2, as I enjoyed it very much. Once again, I love the whimical tone to it.
Author's Response: Thanks! It seems to be how I write. Which is nice! It's nice to have a style. :)
An epilogue for ObsidianEmbrace's story 'The 25th of December'. She kindly let me post it.

Wait...I'm a bit confused. Did Harry kill himself?
Author's Response: Um. No. Have you read ObsidianEmbrace's story? It really is just an epilogue. Basically, Harry is the boy and, following healing (probably at a hospital due to the extent) he's been allowed down to the dungeons to see Snape. Dumbledore is the guy in the background. Thanks for reviewing.

This was really well-written. I liked the lack of happy-go-luckiness, as it made it seem more realistic.
Author's Response: Thanks! I was a bit afraid how people would take it, but so far so good:-)

You wrote something really special here. It was interesting and poignant. I particularly liked when Harry said, Things are going to change now, aren't they? Just a great line.
Author's Response: Thank you very much for reading and sharing your thoughts with me. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
