Snape punishes Harry for the debacle at the Shrieking Shack, and gets far more than he bargained for.

While I don't disagree with his time out I disagree with the statement “You’ll stay there until you can behave like an adult.” Sev has to remember that Harry is not an adult he is a teenager, and teenagers are far different from adults.

Author's Response: That's just it: I can't see Snape having come to that conclusion just yet. He has no family, no friends, and the only regular contact he has with teenagers in in his classes, where he has them too cowed to move, let alone sass him. I can see him thinking that's the gold standard of teen behavior, and having a lot of trouble as a result.

Yup, this is the sequel to Arielle Potter : Book One. It's centered around Arielle's second year and while still following some canon facts, it's more AU than the last one! And there are even some dark plottings ahead! :D

Title: Chapter 1: Dobby's Warning 21 Jul 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
Surprised that Snape didn't press Dobby for more information especially since it is obvious the little elf believes so strongly that Arielle is in danger...I wonder if he recognised Dobby and knows who "his master" is. Anyway glad to see part 2 up

Author's Response: He did tell her that he was Lucius Malfoy's house elf. But also, because he knows more things about house-elves than Harry in CoS, he knows about the punishment if he revealed something that was forbidden, so was cautious. He does have a heart. XD Thanks for the review.

When Vernon discovers Harry can't do magic during his first summer back from Hogwarts, he loses it when the cake falls on his clients. Completely AU version of the Severitus challenge beginning during the summer after first year.

i really like this story, i think that Sev would be great for Harry who really needs someone to take care of him and love him...glad that Sev is checking his clothes and other things and he will give the boy the things he needs and wants

This was wonderful Sev is being a caring guardian going over all of Harry's stuff and buying more than he needs in clothes and school books, maybe he could get some other books of interest to Harry. Sev is taking his guardianship of Harry very seriously and I for one love it. Just one criticism the day that Vernon had his dinner was supposed to be Harry’s birthday (in the book) so in reality he should not have missed it but since this is your fiction I guess it would be ok if the dinner was a day or two before.

Author's Response: Yeah, I know - I delayed it by about 24 hours. I'm messing with canon anyways - what's a measly 24 hours among friends... Besides, it was nice and dramatic. *snicker*

Snape gets a surprise when he's ordered to teach Harry Potter Occlumency.

Well I guess that is good but then they will have to figure out how Voldie is able to link with Harry and realise that he has the bond...would have been better if it rebounded and Harry ended up in his mind

Severus agrees to take Harry to McDonalds in London as a way to snap him out of his depression over losing his magic and certain truths are revealed . . .

Title: Chapter 1: Depression Cure 02 Aug 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
I like this back-story, Harry got to see Sev in a different way, as a human. It is actually kind of funny most students don't think that their teachers do normal things like going shopping or going to a movie or even going to McDonalds and eat a Big Mac; so for Harry this seems like more of a shock as it is the evil greasy bat of the dungeons LOL. Even though Sev would not have admitted it I am sure he enjoyed this outing with Harry...I think later on when he finds out that Harry is his son he would be glad that he did go. I think that this was a good depression cure for the both patients LOL. This one shot has me wanting to go and re-read Hide Away again.

Author's Response: That's for sure! teachers and doctors too, are supposed to never have lives outside their classrooms or offices.  Sev did enjoy it, and later on he will be glad he agreed.  Dumbledore can be very sneaky sometimes, but this time his slyness paid off and helped both teacher and student. And if you want to go back and re-read HYA, do it, I won't mind! :)

When a portal of sorts opens beneath Harry's feet, he finds himself in a place of undetermined location, with a person he loathes. Where are they? What happened to get them there? And why wont Harry's wand work? Magic, and sometimes lack thereof can form unbreakable bonds... When Magic Fails, how will a wizard survive? Shadowland... where Wizards have to count on each other.

Interesting, does Snape have any emergency supplies (potions etc) with him, what about food and stuff...looking forward to more

    Author's Response:

No emergency supplies, because I can't see him carrying stuff like that around the castle every day with him, but the food issue is taken care of in later chapters.

    Thanks!

Title: Chapter 6: Offerings of Confusion 06 Aug 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
This job could be considered a precursor to being a potions apprentice. I could understand why Professor Snape would not consider Hermione, as she is one who would only look at what is in the text and not pull from other areas...for instance in grading Harry noted an obscure use for a plant one that was note even on the grading ruberik or the assigned text but was most likely discussed in Herbology; Hermione would have most likely just followed the ruberik religiously and not pick up things like the students who were cheating. This would be the difference between those who do well academically like Hermione and those who have the intuition to become potions masters like Harry

    Author's Response:

I never really thought about the Potions apprence position, but that's something good to considder when I get into writing other stories.

Thanks for your review!  It's appreciated!

Title: Chapter 7: The Tutor 07 Aug 2008
Reviewer: Keats (Signed)
Poor Harry he always tries to please his friends in this case Hermione, but the girl has to learn, she has to be able to handle competition, she will have a hard life later on if she can’t handle the fact that there are others who may be better than her in certain areas. I know someone like her and the first time she “failed” (got something less than an A) she had to get psychiatric help as she almost went crazy. If Harry continues like this he may actually become stressed out and collapse and as a true friend she should realise the pressure she is putting on him just to make her feel better. Maybe it may be good if someone like Sev or McGonagall talk to the girl.

    Author's Response:

I knew somebody like that too... she always got A's and then one time she got a B and freaked out.  I thought it was important to show that Hermione has some weaknesses.

    Thanks for your review!
