The man leans over the table and presses the cup of tea into Harry’s hand. “Here, have some more. Perhaps it’ll make you feel better.”
Harry doubts it but accepts the cup nonetheless and takes a few mouthfuls. Moments after he’s swallowed the bitter brew he begins to feel cold and his vision blurs.

Sometimes safety takes on a strange meaning, but Harry always knew cupboards were safe. He just never knew that he would one day associate Snape along with cupboards and the safety and sense of security they always brought him.

Poor Harry! Very well written.
Author's Response: Thanks. ^^
At the beginning of second year, Severus agrees to become Harry's guardian, little suspecting the far-reaching effects of this decision. (Note: The story was also published - in pieces - on Fan Fiction Net, under the titles "Finding a Family", "Losing a Book", "Adding One More", "Sharing a Family", "Saving a Friend", and "Finding a Home".)

I originally read this story on ff dot net and I really enjoyed it. I can certainly say a few years later and I still am blissfully happy. Thank you for a wonderful story!

Beautiful tale! It has a strong feeling of the fairy tales of old to it. It's a perfect tale for Christmas.
Author's Response: Thanks that's what I was aiming for. The fairy tales of the brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson are some of my favorite literature. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
When 10-year-old Harry goes on an early morning shopping trip for Severus’s birthday present, he discovers a girl half-frozen in the snow in Diagon Alley. Little does he know that his encounter with the snow girl will change his family forever, for she harbors a secret past and a singular gift that could bring an enemy down upon them all unknowing. Tale partially based on “The Little Match Girl” by Hans Christian Anderson. Sequel to A Wolf in Winter, part of the Snowy Encounters series.

If ever you think to do a sequel with a romance that would be great! I'd love to see how the first year at Hogwarts is for Harry and Draco and how Holly gets along. Maybe she gets magical but she's just slower. Children never mature at the same rate as their peers.
I loved all your characters and how you wrote them. Filch was terrific and I would love to read some more interaction between him and the kids.
Wonderful story! This series was a lovely read.
A summer trapped with Snape seemed the ultimate torture, but when Harry begins to trust his enemy, a terrible betrayal sends him spiraling into desperation. Will he have the strength to survive? Not canon. Mentions abuse. Takes place after 2nd year.

Snape does touch Harry's shoulder a lot, but I think for right now, that's all he has. He's on tenterhooks around Harry and he wants to show some affection, but if he shows too much, Harry might run. He's had to let Harry dictate how much contact Harry allows. So, I do think it's natural. Of course, now that the trust is there, I think Snape will be a bit freer to show affection to Harry.
Author's Response: Hi there! Yes, you're totally right, that little shoulder is all poor Snape has in order to show Harry affection. It will be nice to finally write more huggy moments between them Thanks for your review =) Regards, Shoon
Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all... NOTE: This story has a prologue. It is not necessary to the plot of the story, but if you wish to read it, it is called(predictably enough) 'Prologue to Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat'

*standing ovation*
This angry Harry was tough to read and sometimes I just wanted to smek the whey out of him. Yet, throughout it all Severus dealt with Harry, even when he made a mistake.
And, I have to give you kudos for Severus killing Quirrell. No fuss, no fanfare. In a simple few sentences, and done.

This was pure brilliance! I could wish that it were multi-chaptered, but there was so much story just in this, that I am satisfied.
A wonderful twist. Thank you!

Dumbledore is so cold and unfeeling towards Severus. It truly disturbs me.
Harry Potter starts Hogwarts with high hopes of finding himself a real family, and holds tightly to this hope despite the torture his new Potion's Master seems intent on putting him through. Can Harry's hope hold out long enough to see his dream through?

This is a terrific story. The last half of the last chapter seemed a bit rushed but that's all right. I do love a happy ending.

This was different - Harry and Draco as twins. I wasn't sure about reading the story because of that but you did so well. I even like the name for Draco - Orion John Snape. Perfect!
