hehehehehe... Poor Dumbledore. Poor, poor Dumbledore. He had it coming to him though! I've been really looking forward to this challenge response, and you've nailed it brilliantly. Looking back, I would have liked more Harry/Snape interaction but the way you've written it is just right! Heh - the image of Snape being caught brushing the pink pony's tail with its special brush is now indelibly imprinted on my brain. Love it!

Author's Response: <eg!>  Thanks!  I figure I would have needed a good ten chapters to get Harry sympathetic enough to Snape to do anything but laugh at him.  Harry's not my favorite character, so I'm not as good at manipulating his thought processes.  I have been practicing with him, but I wouldn't have finished before the deadline if I gave him a bigger part, though.

That was sooo fantastic! The pace, the build up and, oh God, the ending! That was evil... but I have a feeling that you're not going to tell us who the father is anyway. Great air of mystery to the piece - it could easily have been any one of them! I'll bet that it was either James or Snape who cast the Obliviate though. I'm going to be thinking about that for the rest of the day now - what a way to end a story! Love it!

What a lovely story! I can easily see how it might have accidently turned into a saga, but this version of it is absolutely perfect! Good for Severus, good for Harry and good for Hermione! This story idea is so refreshing - the main characters taking an active step away from the prejudices and various ridiculousness of Wizarding Briatin's society and the way you've done it is wonderfully executed.

The lines - “I think,” Hermione said dryly, “that children haunt his nightmares rather than the other way around - and - his who-knows-whose-side-he’s-really-on-but-at-least-he-tells-us-stuff spy - were just so acurate and funny because of that! I would dearly love to know what happened with the salamander, the manticore, and the hippogriff that brought about Voldy's demise... but I am quite content with amusing myself visualising various scenarios!

Oh, and the fact that the Muggle government ended up demanding a ridiculous amount of money was a nice touch... and completely what what happen if this had been the case (!) Did you mean to put 'pounds' instead of tax-payer 'dollars'? Yay for the dare-devil Potters! I'm going to go and re-read now!

Aww, bless them. Please, please (maybe, possibly) write a sequel to this - it has such potential for development, especially after Harry kills the Basilisk.

I loved it when you described Snape leaning over Harry's cauldron like a shepherd's crook - it's such an unusual, visual description, plus it's a very Snapish thing to do. So sweet of him to give Harry the photo! And I like the comparison you made between the two of them - how Hogwarts was the only good place and how Snape had transformed from the victim into the bully: so true.

    Wonderful fic!

    Author's Response:

Thank you! I am maybe, possibly planning a sequel.

    Thank you again!

Hehe - fantastic! I really like that you started this off with a solid, believable scene between Snape and Lily, and appointing James as Snape's secretary later on was inspired! Only problem is - I want to know what happens next! (Angst or otherwise) - whether Harry will finally be able to cast the Cruciatus, whether he and his 'family' will have to flee, whether Snape will be able to cope with the truth... Darn, you've brought up as many questions as you've answered and I love it. Write more? *puppy dog eyes*

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  I really really need to write Lily more often, she's such a wonderful unknown.  The little James voice in my head that goes meta at me hates me for that secetary bit, but I'm glad I put it in.

I intend to write two prequels and three sequels, so don't worry, you get to find out.

Still reeling from the revelation that they are father and son, Harry and Snape are suddenly thrust together, when they are forced to reluctantly participate in Hogwarts' first Father and Son's Day; a scheme thought up by the manipulative Albus Dumbledore. Aww, just, aww. I love this so much! It's so sweet and poignant in parts. My favourite part was when Severus went to go and fetch Harry from the dorm and their interactions from that point on - in character and still wonderful to read (And so sweet!). I like your take on getting-Harry-away-from-the-Dursleys (and that Dumbledore made Vernon quiver in fear!

Haha! Bitter defeat serves Malfoy right for gloating and then cheating on top of everything! Yay for Dumbledore's meddling and his brilliant idea for an annual Father-Son day! Great last line and great fic!

    Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much.  I think that that was a turning point for Harry and Severus.  Severus had to swallow his pride and admit his mistake. That's not an easy feat for our beloved snarkey Potions Master! He's never wrong, after all (at least in HIS mind!)  I just love the idea of the "Only Wizard that Voldemort ever Feared" making that bully Vernon quake in his shoes.  Of course, having Snape do it would have been even more fun, but it could still happen...LOL!

Yeah, those Malfoys got theirs in the end, didn't they?  I think that Harry and Severus appreciate DD's intereference now, and they don't mind so much now.

LOL! This is wonderful in its ridiculousness! Don't worry about the shortness - I like how concise it is and how you managed to fit everything in. The scene with Snape was SO funny! Especially how Snape somehow ended up being the prey instead of the predator! Heh heh... I wonder how McGonagall managed to finally corner Harry for the spell reversal... Would there be fish involved?

Author's Response: Who knows? Prehaps, or maybe cream. After all, Harry was heading to the kitchen to get some. Thanks for the reveiw, I really appreciate it.

Over forty years after the Final Battle, Harry Potter's life isn't nearly as charming as everyone thought it would be. Something went wrong, gravely wrong... Will he ever be able to let it go? Wow, this is certainly very different! I like your Al already and his confrontation with Lily was very well written and nicely paced. Poor Harry - I'm guessing that he lost James and Ginny a while back and blames himself, and that the person he was trying to talk to was Ron... Everything else is rather ambigious though - I like it! I really hope that Harry and Snape run into each other sometime soon. I'm intrigued about what's going to happen next!

    Author's Response:

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!  I enjoyed writing the argument between Al and Lily--arguments are one of my favorite things to write, lol.  I'm also glad you like my vague statements because I know they're driving some people nuts; I love reading things like this though and I'm glad you've enjoyed it too.  Snape and Harry will have their meeting fairly soon--stay tuned!  Thanks again for reading!

Hee! Oh-so cute! I love it. It's so cute! Double cuteness!

Hmm, I think you it would be nice if you wrote a little something more in this universe, but the ending just as it is, is good. So, depends if you have another plot bunny in the wings.

    (So cute).

Very sweet story - and I liked the happy ending. I am curious why you didn't write about Harry and Severus going to talk to Godric like they said they would, but I daresay you were running short of the fest time limit? Well, anyway, I enjoyed reading through this very much and I don't think not visiting Godric detracted from the story in any way. My favourite part was definitely where Harry saw into Snape's memories and they both began to understand the other - inspired idea!
