Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for his fourth year after a miserable summer at the Dursleys. When Draco finds out what is really happening at his relative's house, he opens Pandora's box into a decade-old secret changing the lives of Harry and several Slytherins forever. Add to it a new defense teacher, two overprotective godfathers, and a deadly tournament, Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts will be the most chaotic yet.

Do you think Wizards and Wizards can grow their hair back immediately with potions and spells? Or did poor Marlene McKinnon end up having to grow it back slowly?
I'm enjoying your Draco and the special mentor relationship he has with Snape too.
I wonder how often Wizarding parents cane their kids.
Poor Harry. But at least his godfather and Remus, and Snape are all on the same page, that Harry can never go back to the Dursleys.

- Yay a new chapter!!! Fantastic.
I love that Sirius tracked down Snape in his own classroom, and sent a spell flying immediately. That is so Sirius. Of course, Snape has great reflexes and was alert. He has to be alert and react quickly when his students mess up their potions. Not to mention the Mauraders tormented him regularly so he grew up expecting to be attacked likely at all times. I love a competent, dueling master Snape.
Snape's reaction is so spot on. Poor potions ingredients and potions classroom though. For that matter, poor students! They are lucky none of them got hurt being in the middle of a duel between two highly skilled Wizards, while their potions are in progress too.
Some things to be corrected:
The duel between Snape and Sirius need exclamation marks instead of periods when they are yelling at each other.
For example:
Severus continued to prowl around the class, subtly and quietly correcting the Slytherins where necessary, and mocking the Gryffindors when the door burst open and a voice shouted, “Stupefy.”

Fantastic chapter, I love the drama, the angst, the action. Wow. Poor Harry though. His whole world is shattered. Dumbledore will have a lot to answer for.

Harry: When he has a vision of Snape being tortured by Voldemort he does the sensible thing for once and goes straight to Dumbledore. To save Severus Harry will do everything! He cannot loose him! Not now that he has found a family and a home with the snarky Potions Master. Not now when they have finally reached an understanding and a positive, caring relationship.

Author's Response: Awww, thank you!! I'm glad they are coming off realistically. I like the thought that Snape may spew his usual insults but that there's no heat behind it anymore. That it's more the was of how he says/ does things that gets the message across. Thank you for commenting!
Harry has gained an unexpected interest in potions, but that does not stop him from blowing cauldrons. To counter that, Harry throws himself headfirst in studying the theory. Ironically, he just keeps getting worse, and Harry can't figure out why.
Umbridge is another obstacle, as is Professor Snape.

I love that Harry is so obsessed with potions and trying to figure out what went wrong. And I adore that Snape is trying to figure it out too.
Working through the night is easy to do.
Good point bringing up Harry's old traumatic memories. it makes sense that Occlumency would bring them back up. Harry definitely has complex post traumatic stress syndrome.
Your Snape is so much in character. Fabulous job. Harry is in character and done really well too.
The whip Umbridge used on Harry was extreme. I guess she poinsoned him? Or was it just an infection from wounds he couldn't see?
In any case, I'm glad that Umbride was kicked out of Hogwarts. I guess it was Poppy and Snape that did it. Maybe with help of McGonagall and Dumbledore.
It's cute that Harry's new favorite class is Potions. And how he feels when Snape approves. Nice ending.
I'm really glad that Snape finally taught Harry how to clear his mind, and in ways that Harry could understand. Flying. Inspired. See Snape can be a good teacher if he really tries.

- Fantastic start! I love that Lily came to Snape in a dream and warned him, begged him to go check on Harry. It's interesting that she kissed Snape. I really like that Snape listened, and that he woke up and went even though he wanted to stay in bed. I wonder if he will have more dreams with her.
Poor Harry! He is really hurt physically, but also he is wrecked mentally. He has low self-esteem and believes things are his fault, that he's worthless, and other terrible things. It will be hard for him to recover from that. I hope that Snape is up for the challenge.
Where did Harry's aunt and cousin go? Did Petunia divorce Vernon or did she and Dudley die in a car crash or something?
I really enjoyed this start to the story and hope that you will write more.
There were some things I noticed that could be improved:
Double-check your punctuation. Some periods are missing at the ends of sentences.
Several things to fix:
Snapping, he shoved the boy against the car, not caring that there might be a bruise or that there were passersby watching with even more curiosity. He snatched the trunk and bird cage with the freak's nephew and annoying bird locked inside, dumping them both in the boot, and gruffly telling the burden to get in the car. He closed the trunk and climbed into the driver's seat.

Writing is hard, and you have to be brave to post your work. I think that you did a good job with the setup and background of the story. Your characters are very in-character. I am enjoying your Snape and Harry both.

- Poor Harry and all of Gryffindor. They really lost spectacularly. I wonder if the Slytherin team took Liquid Luck before the game. It's unusual for anyone to beat Harry to the snitch.
And with such bad weather, it makes me think they need umbrellas just to walk back to the castle. Being cold and wet is miserable. It makes the warm castle and drinks all the more inviting though.
Madame Hooch gestured for both teams to get into their stating positions.

- Awwww, I loved this. I wonder how Harry survived six weeks in a prison cell though, without eating. Did he eat? Or did the magic spell keep him alive?
I really like how Snape got Harry out. And how they both quoted Dumbledore at the same time at the end. It was nice that Snape gave Harry some dreamless sleep too.
