I'm a great Snape-adopts-Harry fan, which is mainly my reason for being here. But I don't intend to write much because frankly Snape is too damn hard to write in detail! However, I'm trying a story on ff.net....so if that works out well, maybe I'll post it here.

But for now I'm only here to enjoy reading.

    I've already had a glimpse of the nxt chapter. it was in a testing fic which is hidden. actually that was what made me want to read....though if i was completely honest i would say that what really affected me most in this story was food. everytime food was mentioned...even cold yucky vegetables...made me hungry! :

    I don't think it's fair how you've managed to show that everyone likes the parallel Harry and no one really could like the original one in comparison. He had good points too, and you have diminished that to a heart-breaking point. I only hope the original Snape and Harry could develop that same relationships as with the parallel one. like both of them learnt their lesson.

    Author's Response: Another reader wrote that the canon Harry & Snape connected on their own, darker level.  I thought that was a good way to sum it up.

Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

    lovely story, very touching.
    mostly and especially at the beginning characters were...well a little out of character. but then, it seemed as if I got used to their reactions. as if you had somehow created your own snape and harry and students and teachers. and it was new and refreshing. definitely one of the best snape-harry fics I've read (and I've read plenty) and really amusing and entertaining. huge thumbs up.

The-boy-who-lived, prophesied defeater of the Dark Lord, son of the supremely intelligent Lily Evans and talented James Potter, Golden boy of Gryffindor, part-time punching bag and house elf of the Dursleys and the bane of Severus Snape's teaching career, Harry's used to labels. Who would want Harry when they can see instead whoever they like instead? Having never been entirely sure who he is makes him a little too open to suggestion though and unfortunately for him, Umbridge wants to banish his old list of names and create a new one of her own.
Beneath the names others have branded him with will anyone be able to find Harry?

    I should point out that after so many chapters that kept interaction with snape at minimum in an attempt to keep it realistic, this was not very realistic. just because harry is near death, he doesn't suddenly become dearer to Snape. and well you did use some cliche lines that everyone uses to escape having to develop a relationship. like "when did potter become harry?" well is their relatioship had developed well he wouldn't ask himself that. he wont even feel it change. or cradle his head and all that. it's too sudden! despite 14 chapters, you took it too slow, they still haven't got enough interaction.

    I thought madam pomfrey had the night off? loophole!!!! just joking. but really canon students must have been real idiots that they never tried a vacation in school. I would have if I had a room of requirement! very creative idea. just like all your other stories.

    Author's Response: Oh, yes! You're the second person to point out that my plot device involving Madam Pomfrey backfired! Sorry!!! It seems that if I can upload the story from my end (aka: library computer), I can also access the story to edit it once it's on the site. However, if the admins have to upload it for me, as was the case with Whimsy (and 5 other of my stories), I can't do anything with it once it's on P&S. :-( I try so hard to get everything just RIGHT, because I KNOW I'll be STUCK with it once it's been posted, but I completely overlooked the bit with Madam Pomfrey-- I'm GUILTY!!! ;-D Believe me, I feel like twelve times an idiot!!! But, in the end, I've decided to pretend that Pomfrey just came back to school early. It keeps me from stressing out! Hee! Thanks AGAIN for reading and reviewing!
