A very nice, and realistic short story of the immediate aftermath of war and how hero's are treated. Will you write a follow up of severus and harry coming into contact with those from their past? Perhaps when harry or severus have children accepted into hogwarts and they refuse the invitation?

harry death at the hands of the dursley's or thereabouts has always been something i can easily picture.
Author's Response: i am in complete agreement. Living in an environment like that for eleven years couldnt have made no difference in harry's life, especially being at a young age like that.

Sequel to ALBTCF. A potion explodes, and with it comes consequences. Snape gets deaged, and who has to take care of him? None other than Harry. Not really wanting to do it, he rebels against the idea, but something in him changes. Now Harry will do anything in his power to make sure that Severus gets the love he deserves. *Originally called For Whom the Bell Tolls. Can be read as a stand-alone, or with the first story. Ignores the fifth book. Sirius lives.

i'm looking forward to reading this sequel and learning about the deaging. has it already happened or is it in the future? if it already happened, what was the outcome?
Author's Response: (Spoiler!) it's coming in the next chapter. I'm working on it now and will hopefully have it up soon. Thank you! :D

I am enjoying severus' attempt to deal with emotions he has locked away in self preservation. now that it is relatively safe, the emotions won't be denied and i look forward to reading how severus deals with them and the changes that will result. will he give his grandfather and harry a chance or will he decide to hold his grudges?
Author's Response: Very good question that makes me wonder if what I've written is sufficient, and if it will satisfy readers. I am grateful for your readership, and appreciative of your feedback. Thank you so much.

i can totally relate to harry at this point regarding the feeling nobody wants him and feeling like he isn't good enough or doesn't measure up to the snapes. I think he would have felt this way regardless of overhearing the elder snapes conversation. He has after all been trained to be invisible and unworthy. Add suicidal on to that and it would be a miracle if he felt welcome at the homey weasley's, let alone the austere snapes.
tobias doesn't seem that welcoming either. He hasn't even asked to be called by his first name or *gasp* father. Has severus asked to be called anything other than sir or professor? i'll have to re-read the story again.
I love stories where the characters are human with flaws and make mistakes but also learn from them as the story progresses.
Anyhoo, i love the update speed and anxiously look forward to more.

i wonder why DD was so intent on fostering hatred. We found out why he kidnapped alex, but not the reason for wanting hatred. i'm really enjoying this story, very unique. will alex be resorted? I can't imagine he'd want to be a part of a house with Henry potter and the representation of his original mistake of choosing Gryffindor in order to gain approval of the potters. Personally I think the sentences were too light, in particular lily potter. She should loose custody of Henry. and shouldn't sirius, remus and all others that knew the truth be tried as accessories?

I enjoyed this first chapter and I look forward to more. This is one plot point I've always wondered about....it seems so obvious that the Dursley's would skip town the minute harry was off to Hogwarts. They have wanted to be rid of him since he first arrived, they probably think now that harry's back in the WW and the focus is off them, they can abandon him with no legal consequences. Also, Petunia is aware of the wards and figures that if she forces them to fall, then there is no way harry will be brought back to them. Though harsh, if i was in the Dursley's position and had their mindset, i'd do the same thing.
Being sent to stay in a psychiatric ward at St. Mungo’s isn’t exactly the most enjoyable way to spend a summer, so naturally, Harry’s pretty angry when he finds out that’s his destination, regardless of whether or not it might be good for him. Facing a full summer of being cut off from the Order’s plans, Harry’s even taken to envying Snape, because at least Snape knows what is going on. But when Harry arrives at St. Mungo’s and discovers that a fire has changed his destination from the teen ward to the adult ward, everything is turned upside down. Enter his roommate - suicidal, depressed, and none other than Severus Snape. They are both willing to bet that their summer will be a total disaster, and maybe it will be, but even the surest of gamblers are not always right.

I'm very happy I stumbled upon this story. You are capturing the thought processes so very well, it's like you're in my head. It's very hard to re-wire one's thinking - sabotaging self thoughts that have been drilled into you for a lifetime. harry's thoughts of him being a failure are pure Vernon, but Harry has internalized these thoughts into his own. It will be very hard to get Vernon out of Harry's head.
The slow process of Snape and Harry coming to understand each other is a joy to read. I really can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the detailed review! I do believe it has made my week! I am so pleased to hear that you feel the thought processes are accurate. You are so right about re-wiring the brain. So difficult, and Harry's struggles do defitely stem from those hard years with his brain developing in such a harsh environment. It is especially good to hear you are liking the slow process of Harry and Snape's relationship. Too often I find people rush it in their stories, or rush authors here to immediately forge that intimate understanding between Harry and Severus, but realistically, it would take a long, long time. So I am so relieved to hear that somebody is on the same page, and enjoying the process. Thanks a lot, teriwright, and I hope to hear more of your interesting thoughts! Cheers, Whitetail.

OMG, this is horrible! Did the Auror and dog-man break any actual laws, or will they get away with outing harry and Snape?
Gah, it's just so terrible.
Author's Response: Hmm, I suppose you will have to wait to see what happens to the Auror. Terrible indeed! Thanks a lot for the review, teriwright!
